I hate that I’m having to write this review but today’s experience is something I can not leave unnoticed! every time that I come here the service is normally over the top every employee there is wonderful except for Fernanda. tonight I went in for dinner with my best friend which we usually do about once a week because we LOVE this place ! Fernanda served us and she was absolutely horrible ! We waited 30 minutes to get our waters that we ordered when we sat down, she brought our food out and I asked if we could got our waters and she laughed and walked off . it then took her 15 more minutes to bring our waters after we were already half through our dinner. instead of doing her job and serving her tables to her best ability she occupied her time laughing and horse playing in the vestibule. the restaurant was not busy at all. our server had a total 3 small top tables and non attentive to all of those as well. I myself have had plenty of serving jobs and know first hand how easy it is to do so. I’m disgusted and appalled at how carefree she is about her job. on top of our server being a joke . the floors and table were covered in a sticky substance and upon arriving there was a VERY strong oder of propane that reeked the whole establishment! I do plan to return because this is my first bad time here but I WILL not allow Fernanda to wait on me ever again. Servers are what make or break a place , Patron most of your staff is fantastic but there are a few that could stand to be relieved of...
Read moreThis is a tough one. It's a generally consistent quality of food and service so I'm not rating based on that (though I have noticed a slight decrease in quality in the last few months). We go here often. It's a great after-church-place for us to eat. Yesterday I placed a to-go order and had sticker shock when I paid $52 for 4 College Specials and a small guac. This price didn't include drinks, tip to wait staff or the dine in experience either. I found out they're now charging an additional 8% fee for to go orders AND a credit card processing fee. So along with an over 11% prepared food tax, consumers are now paying over 25% in total taxes and fees. Also the small Guac (4oz I think) is $7. This is very high. For example, at Casa Catrina their small guac is $3.99 or you can pay $7 for table side guac. A small is $4.75 at Senior Tequilas. So I kindly expressed my disappointment to the young manager on duty. He told me there was nothing he could do about the to go fee but next time he would "work with me" on the card processing fee. I let him know I would think twice before dining in (unless I had cash) and certainly won't place to go orders. There's just too many other options in Conway. I do hope they'll remove these fees as this place is generally good...
Read moreWent our first time yesterday with my dad (after seeing so many good reviews) to try it out. It started out great as I would rank the chips and salsa here as some of the best in Conway. I love fresh the salsa (as opposed to the cooked stuff), and was excited to taste cumin. We just knew the jackpot was struck.
Given this great beginning, we could not wait for the specials to be served (i had the garlic shrimp and dad dad the panco, i think). Sadly, it seemed, at least to us, all of the flavor was in the salsa. Granted, the food was fresh, but it was about as plain of a meal as we've had in awhile. My 80 year old dad just kept saying, "it doesn't have any mexican flavor", and I had to agree. Also, I do realize the price of things has gone up since covid, but the price for "luch" I thought was a bit on the steep side.
I realize that different people have different tastes, and for those who really enjoy this place, I say please continue to support this fine establishment. But, for this guy, who comes from the heart of cajun country, it...
