Sam’s Southern Eatery — Restaurant in Conway

Ate here for the first time with my family. We tried the appetizer sampler with gizzards and cheddar poppers. It was very very good! No complaints there at all. My child got the chicken nuggets kids meal which he actually ate all of (must've been good because he NEVER finishs his food). My husband got the philly cheesesteak, he said it was a tad dry, he expected more cheese but other than that it was cooked well and good flavor. I had the jumbo fried shrimp with coleslaw and ocra, the coleslaw was a tad off for me, but the ocra was great and THE SHRIMP was amazing. They were huge and very flavorful! Their housemade tarter sauce is the best I've ever had. Hands down. I was almost eating it straight out the cup haha!! Service was great as well. Very sweet lady. The food was out quickly. The price was more than fair. I'd probably charge more if it were my business. So in conclusion, the Coleslaw couldve been a tad more fresh, and they accidentally sent me fries instead of ocra at first but the plus side is I was able to try the fries as well which were also quite good! So in all they still get a 5 star rating for me....

Went to try it out. Guess I'm spoiled from living on the Alabama Gulf Coast. The fried green tomatoes were superb! I really liked the slaw. The grilled baby shrimp were not to my liking...drowned in some kind of overly-salty, butter. Hush puppies were ok and were served ice cold. Our server was inattentive and rude. No knives on the table, only forks. She served our very hot, delicious fried green tomatoes with no plates. I had to ask for plates and knives. Got a rude response from her. The younger server was a delightful young lady who was sweet, friendly and accommodating. SHE is an asset to the establishment...not the server we had. My husband got the fried flounder with fries. Said it was OK. Doubt that...

We made to different orders whiting 24 pc. and 4 pc catfish fortunately I can tell a difference between the two unfortunately for them I noticed and realized that I was severed with both orders of whiting. When I called and just wanted to let them know that the fish is identical. The cook or supervisor never picked up the phone.. so if you know the difference and want catfish don't ORDER from there because they will serve you the cheaper fish and claim it's the one you ordered. What happened to the people who used to run SAM'S AND WERE GREAT they would of Never done this to any of there customers 🙄 I will also be going to the BBB to formally make a complaint that is a scam anyway you look at it....
