Red House Coffee — Restaurant in Cookeville

Coffee and food is good. However, nearly every time we are in, the girls behind the counter, especially Megan, are fairly rude and dismissive. They can't be bothered to do their job. Customers are a burden to them. No greeting. No smile. No "thank you." When told "thank you" upon receiving our orders, there is very rarely a response, let alone a "you're welcome." If you come in with low expectations, you'll be ok. The place could definitely use some team meetings regarding service and presentation, though. Finally, for a shop that seems to be Christian based, when talking about the Word with them, none have really had any knowledge whatsoever. The owner might be a Christian, but the kids working couldn't care less about what their shop is promoting or claims to...

Been here a few times when I’m too lazy in the morning or want to treat myself to something other than a cup of black coffee at home. Their Cuban latte is pretty good. I love a good Cuban espresso, and this is basically that with the steamed milk. Had their breakfast burrito the other morning too. It was pretty good. Needed to be bigger, but that’s a person preference I can’t ding them on.

While I always take my orders to go, the inside is very homie and inviting. I’m half tempted to ask if I can take a chair outside and have a cigar with my coffee. I like the clientele as well. Poets is always a bunch of college kids on their computers. Here it’s people actually getting together and talking to one another.

Red House Coffee is located a few minutes outside downtown Cookeville, just off the main road. The space has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with several different rooms and layouts that make it feel cozy yet open. They offer a wide variety of drinks to choose from, and their best seller is the salted caramel hot or iced coffee seems to be a favorite for good reason. I tried something different this time, but still really enjoyed it. Also purchased their brownie. Yummy. Overall, it’s a great spot with a welcoming vibe, perfect for relaxing or catching up...
