I really like the atmosphere of this place and the people are very nice, but I just don't understand the doughnut issues they have. I have never had worse anywhere, not even a gas station. We used to live just down the street and we tried a few times and sometimes they would be good, but more often they were not. The issues were usually related to the cooking, especially the oil temp being too low so that the doughnuts were completely saturated. We moved out of town and haven't been by in at least 4 years. I saw all the positive reviews and thought they must have figured out their issues. I was wrong. We got a mixed dozen last week and the cake doughnuts were literally spat out by everyone in the family who dared to taste them. I honestly wanted to bring them back for a refund, but I was just too busy and threw them away. The fancy doughnuts were better, but there was an awful after taste from the oil even with those. It tasted like the oil was rancid that they were cooked in. We typically get our doughnuts from Goobers or Rykes and sometimes Meijer or Family Fare. All of them are so much better and we have rarely had any issues and never any so bad as Delly Belly. It's such a bummer because I really prefer to support...
Read moreCan't give enough stars! We were looking for apple cider donuts, and we called like 4 different places before my wife found this place. Came in, and the smell of hot fresh breakfast cooking and donuts SMACKS you in the face! They only take cash and check, but they have an ATM right there in the building so if you need to you can pull cash. We were only there for donuts but boy was it tempting to stay for breakfast, and if we didn't have to plan for a party, we would have. We ordered 18 of their cider donuts, and they were the best cider donuts either of us had ever had. Help was super super friendly, gave me advice on what else to try, and they are clearly God fearing people. We will be back for donuts, and also for breakfast. Just a sweet cozy little downtown joint with great people and...
Read moreI want so badly to love this place but I wouldn't be honest if I did. I hope they take the feedback. This place is a wonderful addition to Coopersville, supportive and kind. I've seen a couple of other people comment the same as I'm going to - I don't understand why people like the donuts. They used to be phenomenal, but now I've spit every single one out that I've tried. I tried glazed, cinnamon, frosted, you name it. They all have a rancid chemical taste that just makes my body have a visceral reaction. I want so badly to love this place like I used to, but I've tried a new doughnut every week to have the same result. I hope I'm in the minority that can taste whatever this is and the place can continue to grow and boom. They really are a wonderful addition to...
