We went to breakfast at Persephone's. (Note it is inside the Seacoast Garden building- we did not notice a Persephone sign outside) Cute plant shop & bakery! We tried the avocado toast, brioche roll with cream cheese & cardamom cinnamon roll. It was simple but delicious food. We got a table right next to the plants, very peaceful. They have signs on the table: no wifi here. But they do have a bookshelf with quite a few books to read.

The artisan breads are flavorful, earthy and made with organic grain - the Rosemary Garlic Focaccia with unbleached flour, slightly moist with olive oil! I felt at home at Persephone Cafe & Bakery, sunlight shining through many windows while we warmed up with nourishing minestrone soup, bread and fruit-filled pastry. Owner Babak understands our need to cozy in, rest and revive!

This was a stop we will always remember when we think of our family vacation to Coos Bay. Our visit with the staff was truly special and the food was out of this world! Finding a restaurant that cares so deeply about the ingredients they feed you was a rare treat! We would absolutely rate this 10 stars if we could!

Seacoast Gardens is already a welcome addition to our community; with the expansion of Persephone’s Cafe & Bakery, we’re excited to have new opportunities for organic local fare.

Finally had the chance to try our first meal there this morning. We ordered 2 dishes: An avocado toast sandwich, which was requested with a fried egg instead of boiled, to which they said “Sure!” and cooked it up in short order.

Delicious.

Initially I didn’t see any dressing and thought it might be dry, but the oil & lime against the arugula, avocado & egg was perfect. No other dressing needed! They know what they’re doing. I was sad when I finished it.

The other dish was quiche-like with eggs, sweet potatoes, veggies and olive oil (sorry, can’t find the full updated menu online to share the name of it). It was also very tasty with a subtle hint of Mexican flavors. It was savory, juicy and came with a side of lettuce and cherry tomatoes. We would order both again. Today’s order was to-go, so we look forward to eating in the clean, zen like, plant filled cafe soon.

The staff at both Seacoast & Persephone’s are always kind and helpful. We hope they’ll be here for good and can’t wait to try more from the menu.

Get those online menus up guys, so we can see your menu additions and plan...

A gem of a cafe in a place you’d not expect it. The food was wonderful and they were so thoughtful about the adjustments we asked for. I got my breakfast sandwich without cheese and they even asked if they should hold the butter on the bread assuming if I didn’t want cheese I might not want butter either. What kindness! They encourage patrons to enjoy the surroundings and not get sucked into their phones. We saw people abiding this and others not, but appreciated the suggestion. The homemade green sauce was delicious and so fresh as were all the ingredients in our breakfasts. This feels like a cafe you’d find in a larger, more urban area but instead it’s tucked into a garden center in Charleston…it’s worth seeking out if you want delicious, simple food in a...

Absolutely the most ZEN place to have the most delectable bakery and culinary delights. Everything is made from scratch and one taste will let you know. Absolutely the best pasties I have ever had in my life. Sometimes there’s this amazing harp player and it adds to a relaxing and calm ambiance as you dine in a beautiful garden environment. I can’t wait to try the holiday pies. If you’re anywhere near Charleston you have to stop in, turn off your cell phone, and enjoy the best bakery treats and pasties you will ever taste. Tell them...
