BJ's Diner 2 — Restaurant in Cordele

For two weeks in a row we've tried to go to BJ's diner. Last week, we showed up an hour and a half before closing time. BJ was sitting at a table with patrons, and there were several patrons in the place. She waved us off and told us she was out of food. We tried again today at 3:00 p.m. The website says they are open until 7:00. The sign on the door says close and all the lights are off. What's up? As you can see, we made a five-star review last year when we went for the first time. A year later, we drove out of our way twice only to be disappointed. If you're not going to be there, post it! It sucks to drive an hour out of your way and not be able to have a meal you were...

Very fine people and excellent cooks. Clean as can be. Country cooking at it best!!! Fried chicken(perfect), baked chicken, ribs, fish, peas, beans, cooked cabbage, dirty fried rice and much more. Deserts great too...red velvet, caramel cake, key lime cake and coconut cake....pies too. One meat two vegetables (large helpings) homemade flat cornbread(um um)!!!!! Drink included in meal. Always a choice of two or three meats and 6 vegetables to choose from. Fried fish, fried chicken, and spaghetti to choose on Fridays ...ribs on Saturday. You have got to go and feast...

Food was really straight forward and delicious. I got fried chicken, collard greens, and black eye peas with corn bread. They offered limited options that are done really good. I went for lunch and the price was reasonable for the amount of good food.

Service was ok, it was cafeteria style with somebody serving portions based on what you want.

Atmosphere needs work, but I was there to eat lunch and I got a good lunch. The place needs to be updated. Furniture does not really match. Layout is a bit dated and strange. Curb appeal needs some cleanup and...
