We made our first visit to GiGi's Pizzeria today and were very happy with our time. The dining area is simple, but clean. The staff is kind and helpful, and most importantly the pizza is delicious. We ordered a garden salad, an order of cheesy, garlic breadsticks, and a XL Pizza with Pepperoni, Black Olives and Mushrooms. The salad was very fresh and large enough for two to enjoy. The breadsticks were brought to our table fresh from the oven and was accompanieed by a little cup of marina sauce. The cheese on the breadsticks was not bland, was just right in thickness, and had nice, slightly rich taste. The sauce is very pleasant, not agressive in any flavor direction, just simple and to the point. Now on to the pizza. The correct pie (More on this story later) was brought out and placed in all its steaming glory before us on a serving stand. Again, the amount of cheese on the pizza was just right and it had a nice pull when you went for a slice. The same pleasant sauce was on the pie in just the right amount and the toppings were plentifull, but not overly distributed. The crust itself was not too thick and folded nicely if you wanted to do so. Over all this was super fresh, tasty, pizza that will bring me back to GiGis. As far as the "Correctness" of our pizza - about 15 minutes after we ordered our pizza, the kind young lady who was running the front area came out and told us our pizza was a bit burnt and was really apologetic about the situation. We were immediately offered a replacement pie. On top of that we were offered the pie that had been burnt as it was only the crust that get extra toasted. The new replacement pie was enough in my eyes, but later another young gentlemen visted with us, apologized for the case of the cauterized crust, and offered us free sodas or bottled drinks. It is this type of kindness and care for customers is what will keep me coming back to GiGis from now on and is not common to the Corpus Christi area. Plus, they have a giant pizza box on the wall that has a little sign that reads "Coming soon." So it looks like we are going to get a giant pizza pie option in Corpus Christi. How fun! I recommend this...
Read moreWent here for lunch the first time today. It's not a good first impression. The server looked right at us as we sat down ,we waited for several minutes for her to bring menus , water something. When she did not , I went to the counter and asked if she was going to wait on us . She THEN told me we had to ORDER at the counter. I said , "That should be posted . As a new customer, I would not just assume that , even with a large menu hanging up ( plenty of places have a posted menu , but still wait on you , especially in a restaurant) I ordered a personal pizza which came with a drink , and the write up said," As you like it" , but it did not specify number of toppings you could get. Now they are very generous ( for now ,until food cost are up), and she told me whatever I wanted. I think that should be on the menu. The restrooms are in the storeroom , which I had no problem with , but they could have a sign , straight back is into the kitchen, but you never know in a small place. Now for the food: I did not want red sauce today , so I got white sauce . It was a little too tangy for me. I thought it was somehow modified. Ricotta cheese thinned out , I was told it was the " House made" Alfredo sauce. I LOVE Alfredo and order it over Marinara usually , not here.. , it was just ok. The pizza was cooked well , but bottom line , would I make a special trip here? Probably not . If I am in the area, I will try again and see if things are improved. Also, I almost forgot : I did not see ANY prices for drinks anywhere , not on the printed menu , or the large menu above the counter , this was concerning, as they offered soda fountain drinks , drinks in a case and beer , a soda came with lunch I had , but what if I ordered a sandwich? You may say if you have to worry about the cost of soda, but some places charge ridiculous prices these days for soft drinks and tea , much less beer!! I was so happy for a new small pizza/ sandwich place , but now.........
Read moreA Slice of Heaven at Gigi's Pizza! Alright, let's talk about Gigi's Pizza, because "delicious" doesn't even begin to cover it! I recently had the absolute pleasure of diving into their Lagoon pizza, and let me tell you, it was a masterpiece. Every bite was a symphony of textures; perfectly crispy on the outside, yet wonderfully chewy on the inside. And the flavor? Oh my goodness, it was an explosion of freshness and incredible taste that left me utterly captivated. Truly a culinary triumph! But it's not just the phenomenal food that makes Gigi's stand out; the staff are genuinely attentive, helpful, and kind. From the moment you walk through the door, you're not just a customer, you're a...
