Let me start by saying it was 2 pm , so shift change , BUT for a place that does not close for the afternoon according to the sign, a server had just mopped the front entry and the front part of the dining room, they did have a caution sign up , but the floor was so wet , I was worried I would fall , even being CAREFUL, I almost turned around because not only was floor wet, it smelled like cleaning chemicals ( not a smell you want with your lunch) but we asked to be seated in area away from smell as much as possible. NOW , for the food. The chips are ok , but frankly, I could get chips out of a bag at HEB just as good . The salsa is not even very spicy , we are in South Texas.. I had 2 crispy ground beef tacos with everything on the side. I'm glad I did. The lettuce was lame ( and to think, I almost ordered a taco salad) it was wilted and had a lot of brown spots. The tomatoes were nice and red , looked and tasted very good ,and the cheese was cheddar and good. A little too much of everything , it is generous of them , but I feel bad for the owners for food waste. The meat tasted good , but it was very "wet." My shell fell apart , which was ok , I just added chips out of basket , set aside the lettuce, and made a "salad " with my ingredients. The waiter only checked on us after I told someone I needed water and a spoon. We NEVER got our bill, but they knew what we had. I did ask for a slice of avacado on my bean tostada, which I did not get, and by the time the waiter came around, I was almost done with it. I did like the bean tostada, the shell was crisp , the beans were good, and I asked for light lettuce and tomato. I will not rush to go back , but I won't stay...
Read moreI ordered a taco salad with fajita via drive thru and when I notice they charged me an extra $2 for it, I brought it up to their attention. The lady told me I was mistaken and it was an extra $3 for the fajita, not $1. When I told her that’s not what the drive through menu said, she got a to-go menu and tried looking for the taco salad to show me I was wrong. After she couldn’t find it, I took the menu and went to parking lot to look myself. (I actually went back to the drive through to see if the menu said what I thought it did, and I was right) It said the same thing in the to-go menu as well as the regular menu inside. I went back inside to explain this to her and how she owed me my $2 back. (call me petty but it’s the principle) and she simply refused to give it back! She tried telling me that’s how the computer rang it up and I explained to her that’s not my problem because when they advertise it for one price, they need to sell it to me at that price. When she realized I started recording her she snatched the menu from my hand and walked away. When I asked for a number to settle the matter through a corporate avenue I was told they didn’t have one. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! What kind of reputable business acknowledges that they over charged you and then refuses to...
Read moreIn this city there are several wonderful Mexican food restaurants. This is not one of them. As I pulled up through the drive thru after ordering breakfast for my family, it never occurred to me the staff wouldn't be health-conscious enough for their paying customers not to wear a mask in this day and age. I asked the 'gentleman' upon arriving at the window, "you're not wearing a mask?" He stated, "yes, I am." I'm not sure if he's hallucinating or delusional or just not very bright, but his face was uncovered. Rather than offering an explanation or addressing my question, he just attempted to lie to my face, somehow thinking I am a blind woman driving a car. I see easily why I was the only one in this drive thru. I left without service, of course, as he yelled after me, "you're not wearing one either!" Obviously, he is the blind one as he couldn't see the one I chose to wear for his protection. I went down the street to El Sol where their drive thru was packed, and the staff, as they do every time I've been, were wearing the proper safety gear. And much better quality as well. I won't risk my health for a taco, and certainly not for a restaurant that cares so little for...
