Truly an Amazing place. I remember the first time I laid eyes on such a mysterious building. I set forth on my mayflower, a 1988 Jeep Cherokee, and made the pilgrimage down from Lubbock. It was fun to experience and see the original Whataburger replica. We happen to run into an employee who has lived in the area for 3 decades. He hadn't been working for Whataburger for as long but he said they used to ride their bikes to the old location which he pointed out was around the area.
