We just heard about the Cuban on Padre Island. It’s located at the base of the bridge next to Snoopy’s right at the head of pier at Marker 37. It is all outdoor seating. It has wooden tables and wooden seats and they were comfortable. The view is immaculate, you just can’t have any better scenery. The staff was very helpful and attentive. There is no drink menu and the staff will tell you what there is. They do have several choices of beer, they have Mojito and they have Cuban coffee, which is one of my favorite. I’m sure there are other drink items that I missed when she was telling me. We showed up about 1:30 in the afternoon and seating was plentiful. All the seats are under tents so you are in the shade and today was one of the cooler days that we’ve had so far and it was very pleasant out there. To eat I got the Cuban combo because I was very interested in trying as much as I could at one seating. On the Cuban combo you end up with about five things off of the appetizers list. It had big chunks of fried pork seasoned to perfection, sweet plantains, fried green plantains, and other items. It was so good and I can’t wait to go back for more. My wife got rice and beans and the pulled pork. The pulled pork is marinated in Moho and has a wonderful citrus flavor and was very tender. I finished my meal off with a double Cuban coffee. Cuban coffee is impossible to find in Corpus and I’ve only been able to find them in Houston. This was a real treat for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wish I could pick up one on the way into work in the mornings. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the pork stew and the chicken stew. Their menu is short, but what they are doing they are definitely doing right. Give this place a try you...
Read moreThis place was gorgeous! The staff was very kind and knowledgeable about the food and the quality ingredients. This place is really special. The food was delicious. It's really hard to find authentic Cuban in this part of the US so this is a rare treat. The tables and chairs are hand made of beautiful wood. AND we had the best view of the sunset out of all of the establishments in the area! There are lots of places in that little area but this one has the best service, atmosphere, and music and dancing Saturday nights! We don't drink but the bartender was an amazing young lady that made us the awesome and very tasty mocktails. Most bartenders don't really give much attention to folks like us that don't drink but she took her time, was very friendly and made us some very nice drinks! They also informed us that they have even more non-alcoholic options on the way so this is great place for all! We were just staying in town overnight but will be visiting any time we...
Read morefirst time trying Cuban food and was AMAZED. The Cubano, to the tamales, the poboy, and OMG those fries!!! Soooo bomb. 10/10 food. It was so flavorful. Also the price was not bad at all! Secondly, I had my service dog and the owners wife was so nice to offer my puppy a bowl of water! We got to talk to her too, she spoke a bit English, but she was the kindest. Our waitress too! Lastly the ambience was perfect. It was windy and sunny and you could see the waters outside. And surprisingly there were no bugs so bless up for that. I will be...
