I'm not one to write reviews, but this was that bad. I took my family of 5 on the last day of our vacation because of the great sunset, and the menu showed something other than fried food. We were sat immediately by the window (per request), but once we got back there, every 'window' was zipped close. It was sweltering, so we asked if they could be opened. Our waitress said she had to ask the manager. 20 minutes passed, and we had to ask her again. We were allowed to open one, but ONLY one of them. I saw a fan pointed toward our table so I asked her if we could turn it on to then be told it was broken. She offered another table, but it was right in front of the large 'air coolers' and behind and huge family. It got to the point that I went next door to scope it out and see if we should pay the bill and go to a different restaurant. They're all on the same strip and part of the same company, but they said they couldn't seat us on the deck right outside the restaurant because 'it's part of the other restaurant and our servers don't go out there'. It's a seafood restaurant, but it was mostly shrimp. They did have a good variety of oysters, but the price for non-gulf oysters wasn't on the menu. My fault because I should've asked. They were really good, but when we got the bill, I was SHOCKED to see that a dozen of PEI oysters was $75! My son got the crab clusterS... there was ONE cluster... It was overcooked, and the shell was so soft and legs so small, the crab crackers didn't work. The bullet rye on the rocks was so watered down you almost couldn't taste the whiskey. I got the tuna tartare, and there was so much sweet sauce mixed in, I couldn't taste the tuna, and there wasn't much of it to begin with. The service was mediocre. She could tell we were frustrated, and I think did her best until the end. As we were trying to pay the bill, I had to tell my family to go ahead and go outside the watch the sunset without sweating and continuing to wait. It took nearly 15 minutes to get my last drink and the check just then to then wait another 15 min for her to charge our card. I completely missed the sunset with my family because I had to sit there and wait so long... Food was really subpar, atmosphere was awful (a musician played part of the time, and it was so loud we could barely hear each other, and the stagnant heat...with not much regard to find us a better spot. All this to say, I'm happy to deal with not-so-great anything if I know that's what I'm walking into and its priced accordingly, but it's advertised as a higher quality dining experience, especially looking at the menu.... but when it ends up being nothing like that, it's very frustrating... at the end of allll of that, for a family of 5, our bill was $336!!! I would 100% NOT recommend anyone dine here. Don't be fooled by the pretty sunset photos and misleading menu. It's simply a bar dock bar and not, in any universe, worth the money we...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this restaurant on a whim today, not busy, and we wanted to dine in as we are also looking at various restaurants for a possible site for our 10 yr anniversary wedding vow renewal dinner with friends next year and the menu appealed to us. It is rustic laid back beachy vibe that is found at most island waterfront restaurants. The menu was impressively upscale, food presentation was on point. We started with the calamari and were pleasantly surprised with the amount as well as the flavors and the sauce accompanying as well as layering the serving bowl with their saffron sauce with scattered capers. Excellent 5/5 for presentation and flavor. We decided on having the exact identical main course, requesting a ten oz fillet mignon cooked medium and requested garlic whipped potatoes in lieu of the roasted russets and a side add on lobster tail each. Our main courses came with a topping of wine compound type butter that, unfortunately was a tad off with the flavor of the steak, completing with it rather than complimentary and we both chose to remove it from the steak. The steak itself was beautiful, soft, salt and pepper encrusted outside and the seared/ grilled perfectly. Served with vibrant grilled tender asparagus spears and a schmere of sour cherry type sauce on the plate that was flavorful and added color. Now for the downside. As I stated, husband and I ordered identical plates when she took our order, at which time we also requested an add on lobster tail each. When we did inquire about the tails when steaks arrived, she realized her mistake, apologized and we said , yes we still want the tails which she reordered although we knew it was going to be another fifteen minutes for their completion. Then when she came back out, there was only one tail. She got our order wrong yet again. Husband was not impressed because it was a quiet early afternoon, on a Monday and when we arrived, we were the only ones at a table dining inside at the restaurant. So yes a 5/5 for food, for presentation and value, but the attention to detail was lacking. That said, we will be back, the food and the menu...
Read moreMy family visited this restaurant while on vacation in the area. First let me say that this restaurant is "outside" and does not have controlled temperatures. If it is humid or hot outside, I would not recommend eating here. We learned that lesson the hard way. Second, I would consider this restaurant to be a "tourist trap" type of restaurant - appears enticing with an intriguing menu and fun vibes, but is over-priced and lacks severely in flavor. We ordered the Fried Calamari as an appetizer, the Wagyu Burger, the Shrimp & Lobster Bucatini, the Tower (half), and the Full Shrimp Boil (half). The Calamari was flavorful and cooked properly. There was more than enough for the 4 of us as well. The burger was fine, nothing special, but not bad. The Bucatini had great flavor but for $44 I expected more than a small bowl of pasta with one lobster tail and only TWO (2) shrimp. The Tower was enjoyable with good flavor and plenty of food for one person. The oysters that came with it were fresh and the highlight of the meal. The shrimp basket was average in flavor and included 8 shrimp, one potato, and one corn for $18. The alcoholic drinks were not good and over-priced. My first drink that came out was disgusting and made wrong. The server was very courteous about it and had it re-made for free. It still wasn't that good, but I appreciated his hospitality and accepted the re-made drink appreciatively. The saving-grace for this restaurant was the service and the incredible view as the restaurant sits right on the water so we got to watch the sunset over the...
