The cuban — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

We're at Marker 37 quite often so we've eaten at The Cuban several times. The food really is THAT good. The Cuban sandwich is delicious. We like to split it with a side of chicken croquettes. (If you have a picky eater/chicken nugget kid they're going to love croquettes.) The mojito is really good but my favorite drink is the coconut lemonade. Some helpful hints for visiting our beautiful sunset island: if you walk up with a party of 8 on MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND it may effect service times. Had you gone to any other restaurant on the island it would have been at least an hour before you were even sat. We once waited 2 hours to get into docs on labor day. Also, the bar is walk up service. Like most bars, when you're thirsty, you approach the bar and say "I would like a drink" If you would like some delicious Cuban food served by the kindest staff in a beautiful atmosphere, and you're not into yelling at teenagers, then The Cuban is the place...

We had a great time! The food was excellent, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made us feel right at home. We had a great time and will come back.

We were seated next to the group who left the recent negative reviews. We saw that they were openly rude and confrontational with the staff. They all left one-star reviews between 30 minutes and an hour before we posted ours, and it looked like they had all planned it. It's unfortunate to see a restaurant get targeted in this way.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The wait time for the food was 2hrs, and no im not even exaggerating when I say that. When the food came it was cold, the rice tasted like it was 3 days old, the meat was mostly fat with little amount of actual meat. Not to mention their food is overpriced for the quality of food they're serving.
