I go to Whataburger often. Normally love it. Yesterday, not so much. Reasonable wait time for food considering i ordered sandwiches plain. When I got the food, they came with sauces on them. I always check before biting and noticed sandwiches and drove back through. Told young lady they were supposed to be plain. Ive never had an issue at any other whataburger by saying plain but after she grabbed sandwich...it went downhill. Out pops out what seemed to be a supervisor and wanted to educate me that I'm supposed to order plain and dry. Told her never had an issue before at a whataburger. She insisted that it is a whataburger thing and that I need to specify dry and plain. After a small back and forth and her trying to think it was my first rodeo [been in restaurant business for 30 years] and the short version, trying to put me in my place, asked her just to stop and just fix it. Asked her if im supposed to say plain and sry then why didn it give instructions on using t h at verbiage on sign, better yet, having your order taker ask the clarifying questions just to make sure.Worst service ever and if this keeps up...no more whataburger here. No more customers will go if they are treated this way. Nevermind hr giggles from them as she was handing me my order as she was looking at her supervisor. Icing on the cake. Luckily, I noticed that she didn't put my two milks in the bag. Then she thought it would be a good idea to close out the order before I could scan my barcode to get credit.
When I asked about scanning my barcode, I was told it was too late and there was nothing that could be done.
Well, I'll see about that. I plan on getting my credit. I usually don't remember or my boyfriend goes and he only has a flip phone, so I was really looking forward to finally getting some credit for my visit. Second visit that day btw. My BF went the first time and we didn't get credit for it due to his lack of a smartphone.
Here's a tip: when a customer places a mobile order, that means that they have a smartphone and an account. More than likely, they are going to want to scan the barcode to get credit. I also think it would be a good idea if mobile orders just automatically got the credit. Maybe try what ChicFilA does and let people enter their receipt information on the app to get credit for the visit after the fact.
