I ordered for pickup. This restaurant recently reopened. I saw a review that said that the prices charged didn't match the menu, but the rest were positive. I ordered 3 Boxcar Burgers, and they were terrific, and cooked to order. But the online menu said they were $9 and Fries were $3. When I called, they said that fries were included, so I expected $27. Instead, it was $51, or $17 per burger. I called and they said that the web page wasn't updated, which surprised me since they recently reopened. They said that they would make it good next week, but the website menu still has that price listed.
This restaurant closed for a long time to renovate and reopen, and they have done a fantastic job. I'm glad they're back. My office has done our Christmas parties there. But in this day and the web page really has to reflect reality. I'll update next week, and I hope that they get their web page menu corrected quickly.
I hate trashy reviews. I really hope this restaurant makes it, because I've been a patron through its owners for over 30 years, and they did deliver a great meal. But until they get their web page updated, it's best to...
Read moreIt was our first visit, and the very first impression was the hostess that overlooked us and seated the table behind us first. At this point, I was prepared to be disappointed.
That changed very quickly after we were seated, the dining room is very quaint and clean and comfortable. Our waitress was Rosetta and she did an amazing job. I’ve been a waitress for 37 years. She was up on top of all the specials. I gave her a drink order she had never heard of, but the bartender Fonda made me be prettiest, redheaded slut I had ever had.
Now let me get to the food OMG we ordered the Atlantic seafood, artichoke dip. It was divine. My husband had the cod sandwich which he devoured. I ordered a sirloin which was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The macaroni and cheese was baked just right, but the cream spinach is probably my favorite.
Spoke briefly to the owner he was very pleasant. Overall experience was great and we...
Read moreI wanted SO badly to like this place. I'd seen posts of FB about just how great the food, the service and the "World Famous Bread" was.
Entering the Restaurant there is a difference from the previous one. The decor is very much fitting with the name and theme of the place. But, as with the previous owner, they didn't know what to do with the second room. Instead of a Railway theme it's a coastal theme. It doesn't seem to have any connection with the other part of the rest of the restaurant.
Probably because this is a new business all the wait staff were young and inexperienced. The "Friendly, family" atmosphere that had been promised on FB wasn't there. And the "World Famous Bread" we'd heard about wasn't offered.
The food was ok, but that's it. It was on the expensive side and not good enough to make me...
