Overall: 4.7/5 (dine in)

The Lost Bean is a huge coffee shop that's a great place to work, study, or chill. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so people are more spread out. They have wifi for working which works better indoor; it was too spotty for VC outside so my call kept dropping. They also have a bunch of outlets at the back wall to plug your devices in.

They have a water station set up by the area where you pick up your drinks which shows how much they think about their customers.

The workers were really nice as well and didn't kick people out when the cafe was closing. After closing, I saw people sitting outside still so I guess you can still use their outdoor space. I went exploring since The Lost Bean is located in like a business center and there's different seating areas around the center.

16 Oz Iced Caramel Macchiato ($5.50) + Oat Milk ($1): The cashier recommended the caramel macchiato based on the information I gave her. I almost got the Better Than Bulletproof coffee which is a keto drink and high in fat but she told me I wouldn't like it if I'm looking for a sweet drink. I asked for less caramel so that it wouldn't be overwhelmingly sweet. Upon my first sip, I didn't taste the caramel, just really strong coffee. I mixed my drink up with a straw and that solved my problem. The caramel macchiato became balanced and was strong enough to keep me really focused...

A Wonderful Discovery in Costa Mesa

As a new customer at The Lost Bean in Costa Mesa, I couldn’t be more delighted with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed into a space that is clean, well maintained, and peaceful — perfect for relaxing or getting work done.

The coffee is excellent, crafted with care and consistency. The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Everything I’ve tried has been outstanding.

What makes this place even better is the staff, especially a gentleman named Chris. He is kind, sincere, smart, and attentive. He creates a welcoming atmosphere and seems to play a major role in running the shop.

The entire team is friendly and helpful, but Chris stands out. I hope the management team recognizes him and lets him know he is appreciated. He makes a big difference.

Because of him and the great environment, The Lost Bean has quickly become one of my favorite places in Costa Mesa.

Highly recommended.

The Lost Bean is a wonderful hidden away café tucked in a business area, the perfect spot to do some work or meet clients. I tried their Keto coffee special, the ‘better than bulletproof’ and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, despite it being very different from my typical taste. I’ll edit this review as I try more of their drinks.

The bathroom is pristine, and it’s a large open indoor and outdoor area for privacy. There’s a ping pong table which is a huge plus for me. I’ll be back to try more of their signature drinks. Coffee was smooth and strong, lacking sweetness. So Starbucks lovers beware, this is for lovers of the bold flavor of coffee. Not for watered down milk and sugar. Although, I’m sure they’ll accommodate you if that’s...

Back at the lost bean coffee, this time at it's Costs Mesa store. Eventhough it's situated and tucked in an industrial zone, but it has nice and inviting appearance with ample outdoor sittings. This store does not have a kitchen (items are delivered fresh every morning) so I wasn't able to get my favorite breakfast sandwich. I opted for a quiche and a banana nut bread (both warmed up), a flat white, and a carmel macchiato. The quiche was a bit too eggy for me, but still okay, the banana nut bread was good, so as the coffee with no surprises. Free WiFi available (thelosttbean2).
