Tommy Pastrami New York Delicatessen

Decided to go to this place on Sat.Jan. 8 as our first experience was great food and service. Today there were different people working. While we were deciding on what to get, my husband noticed the cook with the hat on came out of the bathroom wearing gloves. When we ordered, we asked the cashier to tell him to change his gloves and told him what happened. After taking our order and the next persons order, he did tell the guy in Spanish to change his gloves. The guy did not know why he was being told that, and the cashier guy turned and pointed at us saying we saw him do that. As we waited for our food, my husband was feeling more upset and we lost our appetite. I went up and asked to cancel our order and get a refund. The cashier said he did tell him to change his gloves and I said I know, but my husband is very upset and didn't want to eat here now. The cashier did void our order in the credit card system and we paid for the bottle of water and bottle of Coke that we had already opened. We were extremely disappointed, as my husband was looking forward to eating here and this experience has now ruined it. My hope is that the restaurant takes food safety more seriously. Also, as a side note, not one employee was wearing a face mask and I know face masks are supposed to be worn inside buildings at this time. We will not be returning here as we don't want to risk getting sick from someone using the restroom and not changing their gloves. Saving my $44 and health and going elsewhere.
