Cellar 19 Wine & Deli — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

Party of 8 about 5:30pm on 12/30/23. We were the only table occupied, 2 customers at the bar. The food was amazing, as always, but that's where the positive experience ends. I first asked the server for the Wifi password: "It's our phone number, and I don't know what it is." I'd hoped in her many trips back and forth to the counter, she'd get the password for me. She didn't. In the end, I had to look it up for myself. I've never dined in before (always takeout). My fountain soda didn't taste right, and she only offered another flavor, none of which I wanted. I asked her if she couldn't change the bag. "I don't know how to do that." After she walked away from the table, I realized they had a cooler of bottled soda, so I grabbed my preferred flavor. She offered no apology for the inconvenience and didn't offer a cup of ice. I had to ask for it. When she was processing my elderly mother's ticket, she stood behind my mother's chair, forcing her to twist around to access the tablet. My mother was clearly struggling, and the waitress did nothing to accommodate her, so I took the tablet from her hands and placed it directly in front of my mother. If I could have left a tip just for the cooks, I would've as they truly deserved it. The server didn't earn one from me, and I didn't leave one. ...

I have never been to a place where you just don’t get what you order before. Started with the beer I ordered. There 2 that were very similar on the menu. I ordered one and got the other. When I asked it was because the menu is out of date and they don’t have the other. Don’t you think I should have been told that when I ordered. On to the meal. One of us ordered a sandwich but was brought a completely different one. The server admitted she put the order in wrong because she always gets the too mixed up. Huh? Just put it what was ordered. How difficult is that to do. But eventually he got the correct sandwich after the other 3 of us were about done eating. So we ordered dessert to go. First, the server had no idea what a Colombian chocolate cake was. Didn’t know what was different between that and regular chocolate cake I ordered the chocolate cheesecake. When I got home I discovered I got a chocolate cupcake. There was no cheese cake in this cup cake. Now a got charged for chocolate cheese cake, which cost more than the chocolate cup cake. My wife ordered the Colombian chocolate cake. It tasted like every chocolate cake I’ve ever had. Pretty sure we didn’t get what we ordered there either. Really...

I have always enjoyed Cellar 19, but tonight was the worst service I've ever had any in my life. It took a half an hour to get our order in (which only happened AFTER my friend asked for help), and then another 30 minutes to get our food. We both ordered a small salad and an appetizer and we asked for the salads as starters. Our apps came out first and then we had to ask about the salads...which came out another 10 minutes later and as large salads. Not once did our server ask how we were doing and I did not get a refill on water (which was empty after waiting 30 minutes). Our server was unapologetic and rude the entire time even though we were nothing but nice. I worked as a server and a barista through college, I get we all have bad days...but, damn! It felt like she didn't care at all about anything. And the rest of the staff did nothing, either.

I will not come back here again since apparently they don't care at all about their...
