Dad's Place — Restaurant in Council

Came in on memorial day for lunch after horseback riding the weiser river trail. Cute little log-cabin vibe. Small menu but decent choices if you're not worried about super healthy choices. Got the Hawaiian burger and onion fritters. Menu says all burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, and pickle spear. When the burger came it didn't have it so I inquired and was told that item and sunrise burger didn't come with them (friend ordered the chili burger and hers also didn't have them) . Waitress seemed a little annoyed when I asked if I could order it on the side, but she didn't charge me extra for them. But my friend ordered the chili burger, which is open face and smothered, and when I asked if we could have some forks, the waitress seemed very much annoyed. She seemed better when she dropped off the checks. Overall good food, burgers were juicy and BBQ sauce was delicious, chili was basic and fries were a little greasy, onion fritters are good if you are wanting an onion flavored hush puppy, but not if you are craving onion rings. This was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. I give this restaurant zero stars. I walk in with my friend, the lady at the front doesn’t greet us for 5 minutes because she’s too busy looking at the computer. We finally sit down, and she doesn’t even give us menus. We sit there for 20 more minutes while she continues to look at the computer at the front. This family walks in, she sits them immediately, hands them menus, and takes their drink order. While we’ve been sitting at this table for 20 minutes with no menus or drink order. After taking the family that just walked in drink order, she looks right at us, decides to see how every other table was doing, and walks back over to the computer to look at it some more without taking our drink order or handing us menus. We ended up leaving. We called the restaurant to tell them what happened, she answers and was very rude. Just because you’re short staffed, doesn’t mean you get to treat customers poorly and not acknowledge them. Don’t use it...

Went here after work for dinner. It was a long cold day outside and we were pretty hungry. When we went inside, it was pretty packed for a Monday night. There was only one person working the front and only one in the kitchen so it took a while for us to get our food. However, the food was good, the service professional (even with the large backlog of orders), and the place was clean and comfortable. A lot of people might rate this lower because of the wait.
