I personally can’t get enough of this restaurant seeing as it just opened a mile and a half down the road for me.. The second closest Japanese sushi restaurant would be out by Tolland and that’s kind of a hike if you don’t want to drive that at night after a long day. The food in the atmosphere do not compare to one another while you sit inside a nice cozy small restaurant. It might see only a few tables. It’s probably because the tables are there for only the people willing to sit down and enjoy the delicious food. They deliver out of that kitchen….. I must say I’ve gotten now about 10 times since they’ve opened, but this evening was the first time I took the time to go sit down and enjoy it… I had multiple of their appetizers and one of their soups and for as much as I had for the total to be only $35 including a dessert I was blown away, ate all that I could until I almost popped at which I had to take the dessert to go…… I rate this restaurant in the local community a 10 out of 10 when it comes to service, cleanliness manners and all around great food……. Read moreWe went for the first time tonight - ordered take-out online, and it was already ready for us when we arrived; very fast and professional service. (We also needed the meal to be seseme seed-free, and they did that with no problem; sometimes places forget that you've asked, so we were relieved.) We got miso soup, harumaki (very well filled & cooked), shrimp shumai (very tasty!), a tempura app (nice, big pieces) and the love boat for two. We loved the sashimi selection in that - there was unabi and saga, not just the standard tuna, salmon & snapper, and it was nice-sized pieces, with good portions of ginger & wasabi. They didn't overload the sushi or rolls with rice - they let the fish and other ingredients take center stage. Several hours later, I still feel very full.
We're crazy about sushi - we can't afford it very often, but this will be our go-to place. I hope they stay in Coventry a long time; we need great restaurants like this here. Well...
Read moreWasabi in Coventry, CT is a new addition to the dining scene, offering a range of Japanese-inspired dishes. While the food we tried was fresh and flavorful, expanding the menu to include more warm and hearty dishes could elevate the overall experience. It's a decent spot for a casual meal, but there's room for growth to make it...
