Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Covington

Wife Grand kids and I went there to eat tonight. It started out with them having no kids menus and only went down hill from there. One grand child ordered a kid's burger, not the small kids slider mind you but the kids burger with french fries. The other grand child ordered grilled cheese with onion rings and my wife and I ordered the bourbon street steak medium rare.The server asked us what two side we wanted. I ordered a side salad and green beans and my wife ordered side salad and mashed potatoes. The server comes back and said she could only put in one side order. My wife said she thought the menu said two and the server said she thinks it does and leaves. Meanwhile the appetizers arrive for us but no small plates or napkins were given with them. O well, we made do. Then our salads come out to us and we had no utensils to eat with. We finally flagged down another server who the brought us some utensils. The kids food arrived and my grandson who had ordered the burger and fries was given a slider and cheese sticks and my granddaughter was given her grilled cheese and cheese sticks. We informed the server that he had ordered a regular hamburger not a slider and fries and she had ordered onion rings but they were both given cheese sticks. She said she would take care of this and be right back. She returned with our steaks and brings my grandson another slider and fries but said the were out of onion rings. She at my granddaughters request said she would bring her some fries as well. They never showed up. Our steaks were cooked more on the side of medium well and they were to be served smothered in grilled onions and mushrooms. Well, I counted all of two mushrooms on mine and my wife had a grand total of one and of course there was no steak knife for us to cut our steak. After a few minutes we flagged down our server this time and asked for some steak knives. We did not send our steaks back and just ate them because at this time it had already been 50 minutes and who know what would have happened if we did. Then my grandson said something is wrong with this hamburger. I asked him to let me see it. It was so old, over cooked or reheated in a microwave that it just crumbled it was so dry. Now comes the fun part. Our meal ticket arrives and the server was kind enough to take the grilled cheese off of the ticket but she charged us 3.99 each for the side salad. I asked to see the manager who said she had been cooking in the back. I asked her if they did not have a front of the house manager and she said no and she was cooking to make sure the orders were coming out correct! lol. I explained to her that we were charged 3.99 each for the side salads and every thing else that had happen and she told us the steaks only came with one side and the crispy red potatoes and not two sides. Well if that was the case then that was something else that was wrong because we never received any crispy red potatoes. She then said she would give us a discount on our meal. I told her that was not necessary, that I thought the should be aware of the calamity of errors that had happen tonight. And that I was not complaining for a discount but that this was the 2nd time visiting this location with major issues. She said she would like to give us a discount anyway and I told her that would make her feel better ok but we would not be giving this location another try. She did take $10.00 of of the bill which was appreciated. How ever other complaints I have seen regarding this location I have to believe are true. To bad, because we really need a another decent place to eat in Covington. We have a couple, but...

The absolute worst service I've ever received at any restaurant in my life!! First of all the place wasn't busy at all and, the waitress walked past our table 5 or 6 times before she even ask for our drink order or, said anything at all to us. I've never in my life felt so RACIALLY discriminated against. The waitress basically treated as though we didn't exist. Finally after waiting for at least 30 minutes she came to our table with the worst attitude ever. My wife and I begin to ask her about the unlimited appetizers and, she act if we we're asking her to give us something free (terrible communications). Once we ordered she continued to ignore us throwing up her index finger each time she walked past our table. After about 30 minutes she came to our table with the appetizer. It was supposed to be mozzarella sticks but, they we're cold and, awful. My wife then asked for the manger who was even more RACIALLY discriminating, she explained that the waitress was new and, she hadn't been serving very long (with a attitude). We asked if we could just cancel our order and, leave. She then begins to tell us that she would give us half off our order and, take the mozzarella sticks off the ticket. My wife was furious and, so was I but, against my better judgement I decided to stay (which made my wife furious with me). Our food came out luke warm and, just terrible! My wife refused to eat hers and I ate what I could stomach. They brought the check out and, didn't honor anything that the manger offered us for staying. I would suggest that no one goes to this restaurant, it should be tore down and, turned into a extra parking lot for Wal-Mart customers. Especially if your African American!!! It was like being in the 50's or 60's all over again. WHITES ONLY...

Were from out of town, just had a really hot and tiring day. We were really hungry cause we hadnt at since breakfast. We arrived at Applebees at 8:17pm we ordered maybe 2-3 minutes after being seated. There was 5 in our party. My husband and I ordered an appetizer chicken quesadillas and ordered our main entree at the same time, hoping to get our appetizer before the main entree. Our waitress was very good, she told us once our food was coming soon and apologized said the kitchen was a mess. Time went by and our food finally came a few minutes short of an hour. The appetizer we ordered arrived after our main entree. My husband ordered a steak medium well, the more he cut into it, it was not at all medium well and was cooked rare. He didnt eat but a few bites and he was done. The waitress came and asked if everything was okay with the steak he told her no it was not what he ordered she took it off our bill and was very apologetic. We have no complaints on her she did a great job but the steak and then the appetizer arriving after the main entree and the hour long wait kinda ruined if for us. Not to mention my son ordered a skewer of grilled shrimp and pretzel sticks which I feel shouldn't have been the last two things to be served at the table. Again not the waitress' fault no complaints to her. The food could've been been alot better for the wait time we experienced, my entree was big enough i shared with my husband and he also had...
