Old Town Hall & Cafe — Restaurant in Covington

Arrived before 1 PM on a Tuesday. Although the place was half empty, it took a while for the server to show up and take our drink orders. The table had not been cleaned since the previous customers and there were water rings and crumbs in front of us. She didn’t actually clean our table until the rolls had been served and we’d started eating. So while we’re eating, she cleans the table and we are overpowered by the smell of disinfectant cleaner. We wanted soup, but they were all out of soup for the day. So we went for the special written on the board right next to our table, but the server said that was yesterday’s special. So I went for the Philly steak panini, and the server said they were out of that as well. It was one of those “well can you tell me what you DO have?” situations. I settled for a burger and fries. The burger was nothing special - it came dry with no condiments, and the server didn’t ask me if I wanted any condiments.

On the plus side, the steak fries were delicious and perfectly cooked, with a lightly crunchy outside and hot, fluffy center. Also, the ambience was nice, especially the unique horizontal double ceiling fan.

I wouldn’t necessarily avoid this place, but wouldn’t choose to come here again right away. Then again, there isn’t much to chose from in this...

Unexpectedly pleasant. Wonderful atmosphere. Came in on a Tuesday for lunch, not very crowded and live music. Selected a club sandwich and although it seemed a bit on the petite side I was quite full with enough room for a Strawberry Pretzel. Has a connected boutique store my partner went shopping in. Very enjoyable. Relaxing. Great service...

My daughter and I stopped in for a afternoon lunch. We really enjoyed it. It was a nice place with a great atmosphere to have a bite to eat and just chat. The food was really good. You gotta try the almond tea. Sweet, but oh so good. I plan on taking my wife here soon as well. I would say if you want to enjoy a quiet place to eat and...
