I was raised in Covington, and I sometimes travel back here for some hometown hospitality and to see my family. Yesterday my mom and I visited this shop twice while we were having a walkabout around the square, and it was such a treat! This business is locally owned and has reasonably priced drinks, locally made pastries, and locally roasted coffee made by Nick House-the owner. The iced chai latte is a MUST-TRY! And it's only $4 for the small - which is more than enough for one person to drink. The latte was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. That is why my mom and I visited twice in one day! I just had to have another chai latte. The employee was so nice and seemed like she genuinely enjoyed her job. I also love that this place isn't huge. It feels more cozy that way. It also has a charming interior, with the exposed brick walls and industrial piping on the ceilings. Such a gem in little ole Covington. I will definitely visit this...
Read moreWhile exploring the nostalgic Covington Square, we stumbled upon this cozy coffee shop and were completely won over. Very friendly service, super competent and the caramel latte was one of the best coffees I've ever had. During our visit, we liked it so much we went back several times. The atmosphere is laid back; the brick walls of the historical building lend a nostalgic atmosphere and lo-fi music was playing softly in the background. There are a few simple tables and chairs to sit and sip while escaping the summer heat (and chilled water is freely available to self-serve). The kids loved the little "general store" in the back which has regionally popular candy (Blow Pops, Moon Pies, Now & Laters, etc.) and small toys. This locale is just as suited for locals to have a cup with friends as to...
Read moreWas in town visiting friends and stopped by this shop for a morning pick me up. Ordered a cold brew and the barista recommended a shot of vanilla. 10/10. Also, at $3.50 for cold brew it's wayyy cheaper than other coffee shops. I got to talking with the store owner and he told me he roasts the coffee beans himself. I don't think alot of other places can say they roast the beans themselves. Very cool. He let me try the drip coffee, and I have to say it was delicious too, even drinking it black. Bought some bags to take home. Will be back!
P.S. get there early while they have cinnamon rolls. Best cinnamon roll...
