Congratulations, Browns Pool Room! You have earned a spot in "Tipster Todd's 5 Star Favs!" From what I understand, this was once a bustling, energetic little joint back in the 1950's and one of the siblings of the origional owner found a way to re obtain ownership and try to rekindle that good vibe. Success!! From the moment I walked thru the front door until I left, I felt like I was transported back to the vibe of those better days in American times when Americans celebrated the victory of a hard worked week with each other down at their small town pub or pool hall with some real live music or some good feelin' songs on the juke box and maybe even a game of pool. The staff and patrons were all very friendly, willing to share stories of those happy days when their father or mother stood in the same spot serving an ice cold beer up. I've always been attracted to smoky little spots like this, where I step back in time and dissappear from the duldrums of the daily realities, even if only for an hour. Great local bar. Beer only but you can pay a small fee and bring your own bottle. Common respect is to buy your mixers and still tip the bartender something. The new owners are great and the locals are welcoming and friendly. Smoky in there, but I never realize it until the next day haha.
