Lily's Soups and Scoops: A Broth-Taking Experience! Five stars? More like five souper stars! Lily's Soups and Scoops has officially turned me into a soup-er fan. I went in expecting a simple meal, and left feeling like I'd just attended a broth-erhood of culinary excellence. Let's talk about my kale soup. Now, I'm not usually one to kale-brate leafy greens, but this was a revelation. It wasn't just soup; it was a verdant, vibrant, kale-idoscope of flavor! It was so good, I almost started writing kale-igraphy on my napkin. I'm pretty sure it whispered, "Don't leaf me," as I finished the last spoonful. Ashley, my soup-mate in crime, went for the classic French onion. And let me tell you, it was soup-erb. Rich, savory, and so onion-y, it practically brought a tear to my eye (a happy tear, of course). She paired it with a side grilled cheese, a decision so brilliant, it should be taught in grilled cheese-ology courses. It was the perfect soup-porting act. And then, the bread. Oh, the loaf. It was a crusty, golden masterpiece. I attacked it like a starving artist going after a baguette. I ate half of it, and I'm not even a little soup-rised. It was so good, I considered writing a bread-themed haiku. "Warm, crusty delight / Carbs embrace my hungry soul / Soup's best friend, indeed." Lily's Soups and Scoops isn't just a restaurant; it's a soup-erstar. It's a place where soup puns are encouraged, and where every spoonful is a soup-rise party for your taste buds. If you're looking for a place to get your fill of deliciousness, get your soup-er self down to Lily's. You won't be disap-pointed, or disap-brothed. I'm already planning my next...
Read moreAfter my original 2 star review, the owner contacted me, offered a refund, and asked me to take the review down. I agreed in good faith , that was back in July, but my sister still hasn’t received a refund. Instead, the owner made excuse after excuse to delay the process, even suggesting the refund go to charity instead. Most recently, she blocked my sister on Instagram to cut off communication altogether.
This is not how to run a business, and it’s incredibly disappointing to see customers treated this way.
Here is the original review.
We ordered two grilled cheeses (one with prosciutto, one Vermonter), a hot dog, chicken noodle soup, and a lemonade. The only things we actually finished were the soup and the lemonade.
I’ve never had to throw away food at a restaurant before, but this was just not edible. The hot dog tasted awful, and the grilled cheese sandwiches were hard to even bite into, let alone enjoy. It felt incredibly wasteful having to toss so much of our order.
My sister got me a gift card for this place, and now I feel bad she spent her money here. Really...
Read moreWe decided to order a late lunch from soups and scoops for my mother’s birthday. Living around the corner, we thought giving this local business a try would be a good thing.
Attached in the photos is what we ordered. When my mother opened up her omelette grilled cheese this was the appearance. The eggs are gray, the cheese (which there is a ridiculous amount of) isn’t even melted & the bread was haggard.
I went immediately back and asked “this looks awful” & they apologized. They offered to make me something else but if that is how you cook. I don’t want it. I left the sandwich there and I am awaiting contact from the owner for a partial refund. I asked for a refund of just the sandwich and they said “we are not authorized to conduct refunds. I will take your information down for the owner.
This is unacceptable quality for the price you are charging.
Ps. The corn soup has 3 corn kernels in it and looks NOTHING...
