Eat here, not the Forest Cafe! Tourist sites have grumpy service and high prices. This place is the solution, just a couple miles down the road - and there is a drive-thru tree right nearby.

GOOD food, REALLY nice people, very charming and small and perfect for the Redwoods experience. Breakfast until well into the afternoon. Here's the big tip - locals eat here. A police officer came in while we ate, and I knew this was the place.

Maybe the fluffiest pancake I've ever had, absolutely delicious homemade biscuits and the gravy is great! Good bacon and sausage - not amazing, but good. Scrambled eggs were strangely good. Good coffee - that surprised me. Prices were better than other places nearby. We fed 6 people (4 young children) for $60 (summer '24) Generous portions, we were all full before the food was done and we split a meal with a side of biscuits and gravy.

AND they have a "kids under 10 build-your-own breakfast" that is very very convenient, cheap, and perfect for choosy kids. Lots of options, no limits or minimums. That feature alone sells it for me.

Big ol thing of syrup, the sides menu is reasonably priced.

But again, it was the smiles and small-town family feel with the staff that made it. They gave us bread to feed the neighbor emus! ;) This kind of diner is my true delight in American road tripping. Family friendly. Hallway has a framed Bill of Rights. Nice bathrooms.

Please come eat here and leave a big tip so the place thrives and is here when...

We went to the Trees of Mystery and got hungry. I found the Log Cabin Diner and decided to try it out because of the Google reviews. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted by the staff. The atmosphere was quaint and VERY clean. We had hummingbirds right out our window and a couple of emu's out another window! They had a good selection of menu options and good prices. They have breakfast and lunch items. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, delicious sweet potato fries, and much more. Lots of breakfast options! Our food came out quick and was absolutely delicious! Ok, now the staff and owner. This made our stop absolutely perfect. Sherry, the owner, was extremely friendly and has a wonderful personality. You can tell how much pride she has in her diner. She had us (all 10) laughing hysterically! Our waitress was top notch! It's not always easy with big groups and she handled us like a champ! We 100% recommend the Log Cabin Diner! Thanks...

My husband found us this amazing place to have lunch at after spending the morning exploring the Tree's of Mystery. He was looking up Google reviews and saw all the amazing reviews so we had to go and try it for ourselves. When we got there we were greeted by the owner Sherry and she wonderful staff. My son and I both got bacon cheeseburgers and they were amazing. My husband asked Sherry what she would recommend and she ordered him up a Philly which was to die for. When we got our food it was almost time for them to close up for the day but Sherry never made us feel like we had to rush out of there. We ended up going back the next 2 morning for breakfast and it was all amazing. No matter what you order you will not be let down. Sherry greets everyone like they are family and makes you feel like you are family. We will definitely be back again this spring and summer to visit Sherry and her crew here at...

If you’re looking for a great morning Breakfast before a hike AND a picnic to bring with you for your adventures then this place is your golden ticket! Stopped here before we went on our 14 mile hike (James Irvine, Fern Canyon, Gold Bluff Beach and Miners Ridge) and had the most wonderful breakfast - seriously just like at Grandmas house - and then they packed up a picnic lunch for us so we could stop and have a eat mid way. I had my own personal breakfast sandwich made with a toasted English muffin, over easy egg, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, bacon and mayo 🤤 and my boyfriend had over easy eggs, hash browns, bacon and a homemade biscuit. Simply simply yummy! The 🧺 lunch was cold sandwiches and they even packed the bread, meat, cheese and fixings separate so they would save for our first 8 miles. We came back the next morning prior to our drive out and they will be a constant stop for us in the future. Thanks 😊

So glad we decided to make the drive to come here for breakfast instead of stopping about 40 minutes south where the next restaurant was. I feel elevated from the food. Hit the comfort spot. Felt like I was at my parents house in country Texas. Sit anywhere! Coffee served right away. And keeps getting filled. I got the biscuits and gravy with a short stack of pancakes. Matt got the biscuits and gravy with the big breakfast - 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon and he ordered a side of sour dough bread. If you like peanut butter with your pancakes, ask for some! You’ll get some creamy Jif in a to-go container 🙏 Our order came out to $35. We payed in cash. The waitress was just delightful and made us feel right at home. She asked if we were from the area or if we were passing by, even though we’re clearly not locals. She had a wonderful spirit about her.
