Is Main Street a mainstay?

Word-of-mouth brought me and my dad to trying this place out on a cold and blustery Saturday morning. He had heard good things and I had heard the same so we figured to see what we thought of it.

It wasn’t too busy when we arrived and we were told to take a booth to our right. We sat down to a half-full but bustling restaurant. We got our menus and drinks promptly and started poring over the menu. My dad went with his usual country fried steak skillet-style meal and I went with a basic stack of pancakes and bacon.

The vibe of the place was a generic blend of diner and family restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me that was unique besides this US Veterans table we were next to. I didn’t get to snap a photo as they just cleaned it off and were about to sit down another group of people that just walked in.

The waitress brought out our food and accidentally brought us a muffin instead of my bacon but was super quick to swap the two.

Looking at my food and the price I paid and looking at my dad’s food and the price he paid, I was instantly jealous he got so much more food for about the same price. The pancakes were large and plentiful compared to some places I’ve been and the bacon were long strips and not shriveled up and almost cooked too long.

So why the mid rating? The waitress and staff overall weren’t all that friendly. They weren’t unpleasant by any means but the friendly chatting and banter you normally get at a restaurant was lacking here. There didn’t seem to be a lot of mingling and cohesion to the staff that you see at most other restaurants. It was weird and if not a bit mechanical feeling. I’m not the most extroverted of people but a little bit of banter or chatting with the server is usually a plus.

But most importantly is the food. How was it? Serviceable. The pancakes, even with the butter spread on it and plenty of syrup, were lacking a big punch of wow. Granted, it’s just pancakes but I’d prefer to eat pancakes at a restaurant that don’t feel like something I can make at home. The bacon was super tasty though. Just a bit disappointing that 3 strips were $3.99. My pops said he enjoyed his meal but it wasn’t anything to write home about. I did try a small chunk of his country fried steak and it was decent, if not a bit overly crunchy/burnt on the steak portion.

Overall, not a bad time with my dad but I just wish my meal wasn’t lacking that punch for $12. I’d definitely come back and try a lunch item to see if that provides the oomph that eating out provides versus...

Seen it was under new ownership, and also had another friend check in there and asked how it was and heard not bad. So we get today and I want to eat somewhere different wife looked up and said we been wondering how it was, we pulled into parking lot We go in and a see daily specials list and ribs caught my eyes, and ordered the half rack special salad and french fries. The salad was over loaded with lettuce, it was a side salad not a meal so let it slide. Next comes main dish wife has a very nice looking club sandwich and my ribs, oh my lord I thought when they sat them down with way to much cold bar b que sauce. I scraped it off and noticed it had no seasoning or rubs on the just boiled fast and thrown in a plate. One bite and I chewed and chewed I couldn't cut the the meat with my teeth I instantly took it to waitress station and showed her and told her I couldn't eat it it was to tough. Kept asking if I wanted anything else and I declined. I hope they solve the issues and wish nothing...

I just ate at Main Street Family Restaurant for the first time and I'm very unhappy.🤬 First, I asked my waitress if the shrimp was batter fried, she said it was...also said it has a coating and it's fried so I wasn't sure what she meant. The shrimp wasn't batter fried.🫤 I ordered the fried cauliflower, but I brought it home because their housemade ranch was awful! The veggies that were brought to me were spoiled,🤢 they tasted like a rotten tomato. When I asked to speak to a manager because I felt my waitress had been rude to me the entire time, the waitress went and told the owner. He didn't even bother coming over to speak to me which is very unprofessional. They acted like all I wanted was money when I wasn't paying anyway. All I wanted was to make sure they didn't serve those veggies to anyone else. Someone is going to be sick from...

We stopped by Main Street Family Restaurant to have lunch the other day. Ran into a few people that we knew there, always nice to see familiar faces. We didn't have to wait too long despite how many cars were in the parking lot. It's definitely a popular spot to have lunch. We noticed that there were a lot of waitresses and plenty of employees which was refreshing to see! I appreciate it how friendly the waitresses were. We only had to wait maybe about 10 minutes before our food was delivered to the table. The fries were pretty good and so was the chicken and rice soup. The chicken sandwich didn't look anything like the picture but it looked like they did take a chicken breast, slice and in half, bread it, and then fry it. It was really thin but it still tasted good.

I thought my breakfast couldn't have been better until I met...Karen. One of the prettiest waitresses I've ever seen ❤️. Her friendly festive Christmas Sweater and Antlers mixed with her beaming brown eyes and glowing personality sure made the vibes of MAIN ST seem too notch! She suggested the Grandpa Breakfast Special lol. It was fantastic!!! Biscuits and Gravy thick and creamy, sausage packed a punch to the palette, and the crispy hash browns eggs and toast cooked to perfection. I'm definately coming back again and hope Karen will be my girl....uh, I mean waitress 🤣 Merry Christmas MAIN ST and you just won over another new client when I'm in town 🎄 ⛄ ❄️ 🦌 🙏 HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
