To be completely upfront, I did not dine in, and I don't think that I would like to in general, but that is my own personal bias. It is not that the restaurant is openly filthy or there is anything wrong, is just a relatively small space with a fairly open kitchen, which makes it a little bit Smokey, and that personally bothers me. I know it doesn't bother a lot of people, and a ton of people get things like sizzling, fajita plates and Etc. So if the smoking is potentially coming from the kitchen isn't going to bother you, I think this restaurant will be fine to dine in. In fact, I think it would be lovely. It's a cute little local place, and I have nothing against them. Just if you don't like the small atmosphere of a small family restaurant that doesn't have a closed off kitchen, it probably isn't for you, and for me personally, I do not like that kind of atmosphere just because it is a bit too claustrophobic for me. So I'm getting out ahead of my four stars on atmosphere and saying that is likely my own personal bias. It is just not something I care for because I do not like greasy smoky smells. That said, everything else about the restaurant was fantastic. I walked up here on a whim one day because my roommate really wanted Tex-Mex food and they actually have a Tex-Mex plate which I did try some of and it was truly phenomenal. The restaurant staff was very nice, they were accommodating for his shellfish allergy, and happily swapped the shrimp for some extra grilled veggies, which was super nice of them and very flexible, I obviously can't promise they would do that every single person, but I had a very pleasant experience and we both enjoyed our meals very much. Like I said it's a small local restaurant so if you can support them, please please do, a lot of the weight. Staff are high school/ college age, and they're just trying to make a living like everybody else. So saw a few people in the restaurant and they seem to be having a lovely time, I chatted at the counter while I waited for my food, they were super nice, they put the guac in a separate dish because I had to walk in the 95° heat and we knew it would get melty, I have no complaints about this place, also, if you have a good tolerance for heat and you don't want the open kitchen atmosphere, they do have outdoor seating available. I do not know how often it's used? As this was my first time there, and there was nobody seated outside, but I suspect they wouldn't have a problem with the request to sit outside? All of the food was bang on, very tasty, and be chef was accommodating, the front of the house. Staff was lovely, my roommate loved his meal, I very much enjoyed my burrito, if you like American Mexican places, this place is banging. There seems to be some misconception that they're closing? That is not the case. So check them out if you have the chance! I really recommend it. I wish I had taken pictures of the food because it was delicious, but we ate it way too fast...
Read moreWe decided to try this place despite some bad reviews recently posted because we're local residents and want to give a relatively new business a chance to earn our business. We ordered the ChoriPollo and the Enchiladas Rancheritas and both dishes were good. The ChoriPollo entree came with two pieces of chicken topped with chorizo, rice and refried beans. An adequate portion of food for the price. The Enchiladas Rancheritas was decent size meal for the price as well. The only thing I would have to negatively comment about the entree is that the food could have been served much warmer than it was. At this time the restaurant is waiting for their alcohol license so there were only a couple of brands of beer available along with some soft drinks. As for the service, even though it was busy and there was a birthday party group there, we were promptly greeted and seated right away. During the meal, we were asked if we needed anything three different times and the owner stopped at our table to ask how our dinner was. I hope that others who try Mi Casita will experience what we did. We plan to visit again and will have more good things to say...
Read moreMy family and I went to Mi Casita this evening and it was an experience that I will never forget. We were seated right away, but our waitress was very unfriendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there. We received our chips and salsa right away then our drinks came, we asked for napkins and we got 1, our waitress took our order and after three baskets of chips and about a hour wait finally our food came out. We had to ask for our silverware and for more drinks, my wife and I shared a plate texas fajita and it was hot and very good, my son order burrito loco and the chicken was cold. We said something to the waitress and she put her finger in the burrito to see if the food was cold, she walked away and didn't even take the plate. Needless to say that was the end of our meal. The service was poor and the atmosphere terrible. The overall experience was unacceptable. If I could give a zero star rating I would, I doubt very seriously we will...
