My family and I have been here three times. The first time, the donuts were cold. The second time, I asked if they could make them fresh. The woman behind the counter explained that they can't make a fresh batch but they can just heat up the chocolate and put it on top of the already baked donuts. I was satisfied with that and accepted that. Those donuts were delicious. The third time, I requested the same thing be done. A different (older) woman told me she couldn't do that but i could use the microwave behind me to heat up the donut. I explained to her that a woman before her had heated up the chocolate. She kept insisting on me microwaving the donut. I then told her, I dont like to microwave donuts because I can taste the difference between heated up chocolate and a whole heated up donut. When you microwave a donut, the donut gets tough and chewy. She finally agreed to heat up the chocolate after a longer than nessecary discussion about my very simple request. There was no reason for a debate, the bakery was not busy at all-we were the only ones there- and its a simple request. When I recieved my two dozen donuts, my family left. Halfway home, I bit into my first chocolate donut. She microwaved it. My family won't...
Read moreGrew up eating here my entire childhood. My Grandma would bring us in our pjs every morning as toddlers. We would get the sugar cookies & donut holes! Now my Grandma& Mom have passed away, we are grown up, living in Texas. When we come to their graves or to visit family we hit Ruddocks. The last few trips have been a disapointment. They taste NOTHING like they did. I don't knw why you would change eveyones FAVORITE cookie??? They used to be so light, airy, a hint of lemon with each cookie gently pressed in a vat of sprinkles until fully coated. Now they are thick, dry, crumbly with a few srinkles smashed in. Those cookie have taken me back to childhood for years. I was so disapointed. Bring back those amazing pieces of my childhood & everyone elses! Ask the famiy or exemployees for that recipe! We drive 3hours every time & spend $50+ for all my sibblings. I will be back with my fingers crossed, looking for the amazing cookies that bring me back to my grandmas car, my 1980's pjs & giggling with my...
Read moreAwesome place. In case you’re looking for the original, old fashion, handmade, heartwarming Cajun bakery products - here it is. Take the detour for sure. The staff is super nice with a smile on their faces, even when you ask touristy questions.
Tip: when you walk in and you can’t spot the donuts, don’t be afraid. They are behind a magic door since - believe it or not- they are freshly made and still warm. Two types- glazed and chocolate. This is pure focus on the best! The taste and texture: not as sweet as the usual donut which I really liked. Texture is way better than the franchise donuts. You taste and feel the manual work, ingredients and love that is going into their products.
Thanks for the experience and keep up...
