Starr Hill Brewery — Restaurant in Crozet

I do not understand why a place that operates as a brewery and NOT a restaurant does not allow well-behaved dogs inside. My husband and I have visited breweries all over, particularly in Virginia, and those that do not operate as a restaurant will let dogs inside. We usually prefer outdoor anyway, but on the hot summer afternoon we visited, we were discouraged to find that we had to keep her outside on what can only be described as a hot asphalt extension of the parking lot with NO shade. If you have a dog, this is not a dog-friendly establishment. Take your business elsewhere if it's a hot day. We chose to take our remaining business to Pro Re Nata where we felt most welcomed and our sweet quiet well behaved girl was able to stay inside until it cooled off. Starr Hill, get with the program. Had the opportunity to visit Starr Hill brewery last night for the first time.. I was there supporting the local MS society and the Tour de Vine bike ride on June 13-14. The atmosphere was fantastic, beer cold, the dinner from the Morsel Compass Mobile Kitchen was great. I especially want to thank Jeff and Jack, who manage the Starr Hill brewery, for all they do supporting charitable organizations in the local community. Attended Brewfest in Manheim Pa Weekend of May 10, 2014 ( PA Renn Faire site). Saison was my favorite of all the brews I tasted. It was about my 10th brew tasted and I ended the evening with a second sample. Just bought Saison from our new ( at least in Pennsylvania) grocery store selection to determine if the taste from the bottle would be as good as it was from the keg. IT Was AND my next case will be Saison but will also try some of the staff favorites mentioned.
