Garfield's Beverage Warehouse — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

My buddy calls to inform me that Garfield's in Crystal Lake had "stickee monkee" by Firestone Walker. Being a big beer head, I immediately get in my car and drive 30 minutes to this location. I walk up to the guy behind the counter and ask if they had got any in today. Even though i already knew they had them in stock. Ryan, the "beer manager," was the rudest guy I have dealt with in years. He said "No." I said you sold out? He responded "didn't get any in" very rudely. I then mention that a buddy referred me to this location and had just purchased one 30 minutes ago. He doesn't even say anything. I said "hey buddy" and he immediately interrupts me and says "don't know what to tell you dude" in a very rude voice. I have been in sales for 13 years at 2 jobs and if I ever spoke to customer like that I would have lost my job. Good thing Binnys had this beer and were very customer friendly and even offered me the "unsessionable" by revolution which is also a decently rare beer. Don't go to Garfields, especially in Crystal Lake. The beer manager should not have a job that deals...

First and last time I will ever go here! Binny’s can’t arrive soon enough to Crystal Lake.

My wife and I went in to buy a few bottles of hard alcohol and some cases of beer to find they didn’t have the variety pack we were looking for. So we held off on getting all the stuff from here and decided we wouldn’t just check out with what we had in the cart.

We get to the checkout line, we were asked for our loyalty card and said no we don’t have one and this is our first time shopping here. We asked about signing up for a loyalty rewards card, but we were told not today as the store was busy and as the cashier stated, the line is halfway down the store so we can’t do it today. The line isn’t my problem, we waited. So with that attitude we will never step foot in another Garfields for any of our purchases.

Congratulations! You wanted to give a great first experience, you did! We will never forget this and because of this we will never recommend Garfields to anyone and we will never shop Garfields again. Thanks for the worst 1...

Impressive! Hadn't been over there since the closing of Cardinal Liquors. The building was the old Aldi's. I live only a few blocks from this place. Very convenient. Just across the street from the Amish furniture store and O'Reilly's. They have a bar, but it's not a full service bar. It's a bar, that serves things that you might not know about, or were interested in trying. Great idea. Nothing worse than buying something you don't like. Upon the day I went in there, they were having a beer and wine tasting on Saturday from 1 to 5. I found it to be educational and informative. There's so many brand out there, this give you the opportunity to find out about them, before purchasing. Great liquor store!
