I have become a pretty regular customer here because the food is INCREDIBLE. Traditional and authentic Nicaraguan Fritanga served to order. I typically order the Gallo Pinto (red beans cooked into white rice), Carne Asada (grilled flap steak), Maduros (fried plantains), and Queso Frito (fried cheese). The rice is well-seasoned and soft. The meat is marinated and tender. The cheese is one with a high melting point, so even after it's been fried, it hold the square shape, soft and chewy inside with a crispy charred exterior. The also have delicious natural juices. My favorite is Melon and my husband is addicted tot he Maracuya (passion fruit) The plate of food runs me about $16, but the quantity and quality of the food warrant the price. The juice come in $4 and $6 sizes.

Listen I’ve lived in Miami for over 30 years and Nicaraguan myself. I’ve visited multiple fritangas that’s worth the drive and bank for you buck (from Sweetwater to little Havana). I’ve refrained myself from having to post a negative review to this place for some time now giving them a chance but that’s it. The women who work there always with a bad face as if they are doing you a favor. The carne asada portion was not worth the money. $16.00 for a two small strips and the gallopinto portion either. You can get better quality at El Monimbo or even El Cerro Negro lunch special for a $1 more or less. It’s unfortunate that Curler Bay very few Fritanga that are around aren’t worth it. Take it with a grain of salt or not but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I went there after reading the reviews. They had a refrigerator that was out of order and was leaking all over the floor, so people in line were standing in a puddle. I dont know if it was the sitting water but there was an unpleasant smell. Already it was kind of grossing me out but again, because of the reviews I was waiting in line. Then, a person two women in front of me caught the lady serving food touching money, the register, a door EVERYTHING with the same gloves she was using to serve the food. The woman asked very kind in my opinion, that the employee please put on clean gloves and instead of obliging the employee ARGUED WITH THE CUSTOMER. Not only did myself and several people get so disgusted we started to leave, turns out the "customer" worked for the Health Department. She told me they are repeat offenders and it is not the first time she has had issues with them but especially with the handling food with dirty gloves or no gloves and unwashed hands. I don't care how delicious your food tastes, food safety and cleanliness should be #1!...

I have supported this eatery for a couple of years. The steak is delicious and they are generous with their servings. The service is not the best but I continued go back. After today, I will never go back there. The woman behind the counter was so hateful. It is almost as if she was discriminatory towards me. If you do not speak Spanish or a person of color, watch out. This is not a card I pull easily. Very disrespectful and unkind.

I decided to give Pinolandia another try. The food is still good. I noticed a major change in the customer service. It is definitely a difference from when I was there a few months ago. I will go back again. The ribs are very good and the steak is still delicious. From one star from 3 months ago to 4 stars today is...
