JoeOne Hibachi Go — Restaurant in Cypress

Went for dinner based on the reviews and having been following them on IG for quite awhile. If you've lived in Cypress for awhile then you know the dilemma we have as far as good teppanyaki restaurants... Shogun is straight trash as are the others some of which have come and gone. Anyways, had high expectations for Joeone.

We had the Gyoza and the Eggrolls to start with. I hope that they are both made in house and they tasted pretty good. For the entrees we had one chicken hibachi and one Joeone Special, each with fried rice. Fried rice was good and really hot (temperature, not flavor). The chicken was good but was cut into really small pieces. The Joeone was ok but expensive for what you get (would have been better to split with someone).

Suggestions for improvement;

1. Soda fountain, fresh iced tea, and a few beer offerings. Canned soda just doesn't work, certainly not at this price point.
2. Turn the AC on high, the building faces west so catching the sun in the afternoon made things pretty warm.
3. Maybe this is a thing but if not, how about the option to add vegetables to an order? I don't miss the salad or the onion soup that most places serve, but pretty much all teppanyaki places give you a side of veggies with the rice. Can I get half veggies and half rice? I see that they are a side item for $4.50... I don't need a ton of them and a small serving would really have helped the Joeone special.
4. Serving everything in a to-go container is an interesting concept but it is also kinda' weird, especially for some things that will most assuredly be eaten completely. I get that it cuts down on having to wash dishes and I'm sure space is at a premium in the back but I'd honestly have preferred a high quality paper plate then eating out of a to-go container for everything. You have a garbage can by the door so I assume you want me to throw my trash away but you take the tray with you when you bring the food. Trying to carry all of the containers, sauce cups, etc to the trash without a tray is cumbersome.
5. Have a card explaining the sauces though we'd just stick with ginger and mustard next time.

Overall, it was good but probably something we would enjoy more for lunch rather than for dinner. Will try them one more time to sample the fried rice entrees as well as the...

Let’s start with the staff…. Young people that actually care about the customer experience!!!! IKR!!! The young lady that took our order, gave great suggestions, served our food and checked on us multiple times was patient and very very friendly.

The restaurant was spotless and inviting.

Now for the food… one word…. INCREDIBLE!

We started with the goyza and had it fried (one of the suggestions from our server) it was super crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside with a ton of flavor!

I ordered the fillet (medium rare) with shrimp and fried rice. The fillet was perfectly cooked and ridiculously tender, the shrimp was tender and very flavorful. The fried rice was crazy good and the sauces are very good as well. The yum yum sauce is appropriately named and my favorite. What I ordered was the most expensive thing on the menu at $24 this is easily $30-$40 at Benihana and just as good!

My wife got the July special which was chicken with veggies and fried rice. The chicken was exceptional but even better was the veggies, man these were good! I will definitely order a side of these next time! this meal was like $9

Bottom line here…. The food is exceptional, you get a lot of it for a VERY reasonable price.

So the customer service was absolutely excellent. I was actually greeted and I was actually called by my name which I thought was really nice. The lady that helped me was very kind. She let me know that I have paid for an up chart to make it a combo and make sure that I got my drink before I left at the door. This was my first time here so I wasn’t aware of that. I thought I just had you know a shrimp plate with a egg roll, but apparently I got a drink too. I feel like a great customer service is really hard to come across out here but the more places I go to I realize that it’s not absolutely nonexistent in this area. You just have to find those places that still care about providing a good customer service I don’t wish I would’ve grabbed ladies’s name today. I came in about 1 o’clock and grabbed it to go order just because I like to call people with their name and when I like to give a compliment, I like to provide a name as well, but if you do remember me, my name is Cedreece and I just want to say thank you so much for your wonderful customer service that you provided today and I will definitely tell people about this place and of course be back with my family because of course that’s not care of...
