True Texas BBQ — Restaurant in Cypress

My Mom wanted BBQ, so I found this place on Google Maps. I was surprised it was in HEB. It's very clean and had lots of seating. Ordering was slow. The person at the register seemed like they had multiple responsibilities and there is already only 1 register with a person at it. You have to order via a self check out kiosk otherwise.

We both ordered the 1 meat plate which came with bread, 2 sides, sauce, pickles, and onions. I think the meat portion is small for what we are used to in TX. I thought the pictures of one slice of brisket was odd when I was ordering. Then my plate came and I understood. The brisket was moist and flavorful. My Mom enjoyed her 2 sides (beans and coleslaw). My collared greens and creamed corn were good. The creamed corn was a little spicy. Even with a smaller portion of meat, I'm excited to come back and try other items on the menu.

First time visiting 5/30/25 @8pm. I ordered the stuffed baked potato with brisket for $10, mac n cheese, Serrano cornbread and sweet tea. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. My food arrived and looked great. The Mac n cheese was ok but there was something extra about it I didn't really like. The serrano cornbread was great with the sweet butter, the sweet tea was refreshing and not crunchy. The baked potato had plenty of flavor, the potato was nice and hot, the brisket was full of flavor, unfortunately the temperature of the meat was barely warm. I alerted the cashier to inform the kitchen of this matter in hopes to get it resolved but no one ever came. So I just mixed the brisket with the potato in hopes to heat the meat up and eat it comfortably. Not a great way to enjoy a dinner out. I gave them around 4 chances before a review but this place is pathetic. It's a management issue cause you can tell the staff works so hard and remains polite amidst chaos. I've been there and they didn't have half of their main menu items but this time I ordered literally one sandwich and waiting half an hour and got a refund that took way too long to process. You think they'd offer a free side or something to someone who didn't get their food but they just gave me my refund and that's it. I'm done with this place. Always problems.
