Went there after visiting Holiday World, as it was one of the only options still open. Mildly busy, started quickly. Gentlemen serving us did well. Could tell he was new and learning, but trying. Drinks came in a timely fashion, and our orders for appetizers and food were placed.
As we sat there, there was a huge storm outside, and it grabbed the attention of every one in the restaurant, including the staff. The cooks were being told to get back to the grill by the manager, but they were more concerned about "How they were going to get home after their shift", even though they still had fourish hours of work left.
The manager finally got them back to the grill, but by this time, the Strawberry Cheesecake Balls had turned into what looked like oversized Count Chocolu cereal pieces. While comical, unedible.
Another thirty minutes passes, still no food. More customers have arrived. Staff can be seen frustrated that there are so many people coming in. Signs are placed that "No more people will be seated, as wait exceed business hours.". Still no food. I'm getting hangry. I look back at the kitchen, and what do I see? One of the cooks, with any Icypop in his mouth, ingloved, playing food. This dude is literally eating a Popsicle, while serving people's food? Me not being a Karen, I just smile.
It has now been 49 minutes, food for our family of four arrives. Half has definitely been left under the heat lamp, a little too long. Service by the original guy was great, I'd recommend he takes his work ethic, and energy somewhere it will be better valued. I usually like Denny's, but I will not be returning to...
Read moreWalking in we got a deja vu sort of feeling that we had eaten here before, but, I hadn't written a review, so, I don't see how that is possible. LOL Funny though that we both had the same deja vu. Even weirder was being seated at the same table that we both remembered sitting at before. 🤔🤷🏻♀️🤔
Window was in dire need of cleaning, the reason I took away 1 star from the atmosphere.
Our waitress was a pretty red headed girl, but I don't remember her name. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She forgot my boyfriend's coffee and was honest about it and sincere in her apology.
I ordered the build your own grand slam. 2egg whites scrambled X2, GF hash browns, and a gf English muffin. I added fajita mix and cheese to my eggs. 😋 My boyfriend ordered coffee & a french toast platter. I took 2 pieces of his bacon (not good for him 🤪).
He said his food was ok, and remarked on the syrup dispenser. Didn't care for the pancake syrup. My hash browns were a bit over cooked for my tastes, but not inedible. I enjoyed my scramble mix and his bacon. The udis muffin was pretty awful. Not Denny's fault, other than they should find a different brand of gf English muffins. Udis changed their recipe a few years back and it's pretty nasty tasting now. They could, however, have cooked it longer. It was soft, and had a bit of a dry grits texture. 😐 The Heinz jelly isn't as good as Smuckers. More congealed than jam like.
All in all a decent meal, a little on the pricey side, but better than what the hotel was offering. 😶

Read moreMy husband and I as well as my sister-in-law and her husband came to this Denny's after a long day at holiday world, the food was good and our immediate service was quick and friendly. But it is what happened after we left that really makes this Denny's stand above all restaurants! My husband had my phone in his pocket and it slipped out with none of us noticing and we left and drove the two hours away to get home. The next morning we began unpacking and I realized my phone was in none of our bags. I called my sister-in-law off my husbands phone she didnt have my phone either. Frantically we called the lost phone dumped unpacked bags searched everywhere. My husband called this Denny's and asked if we might have left it there. In return the asked where we sat and said the were going to pull the booths and tables out to try to help us find it. Later that day we got a call back from the Denny's manager, Megan, who had found my phone! But now we were left with the dilemma of driving hours away to get the found phone, driving back, and how would we come up with the gas money when we just blew all our money on vacation? My husband asked Megan, the Denny's manager, if there was any way possible they could mail us the phone and we would pay for the mailing fees. She set up the mailing had it mailed to us with the bill. SHE TRUSTED US TOOK FAITH IN OUR WORD! We received our phone today along with a $4.13 receipt! I just have to say how much I appreciate the fact that she trusted us most people wouldnt take that kind of leap of faith. It was...
