I recently had the pleasure of dining at "Don't Stay Hungry," the Puerto Rican restaurant located in Daleville, Alabama, and I must say it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The menu offered a wide variety of Puerto Rican delicacies, and every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors. The empanadas were perfectly crispy and filled with a savory filling that was simply divine. The mofongo was a true culinary masterpiece, combining the richness of plantains with well-seasoned meat to create a truly unforgettable dish.
The Chuletas were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and paired wonderfully with the aromatic arroz con gandules. The combination of flavors and textures was a feast for the senses. And let's not forget the tamarindo juice, which was both refreshing and delicious, the ideal accompaniment to the meal.
What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the evident passion that went into every dish. The presentation was impeccable, and the portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no one would leave hungry. The friendly staff members were attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and make sure that all guests had a memorable dining experience.
If you're a fan of Puerto Rican cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend "Don't Stay Hungry." Their commitment to delivering exceptional food and creating a welcoming atmosphere is evident in every aspect of the restaurant. I left with a satisfied palate, a full stomach, and a desire to...
Read moreI think I had the worst meal since I have been here and I moved in March 2022. First there’s a huge language barrier. Unless your dealing with the girl with purple hair. The staff doesn’t get it. I came in at 7:00. So still an hour before they closed. They were out of everything. I said ok I’ll get the pulled pork and rice. Firstly the pork was so over cooked it was like jerky. Not sure if he microwaved it but it was literally tough. And he gave me the smallest half cup portion and like 3 cups of overcooked crunchy rice. Not fluffy not flavorful. Salty and crunchy. I got bottom of the barrel food. If your out of it doesn’t look fresh or good. Don’t serve it! I’d rather of them said we are out of everything and close then give me scraps they had left. Then Since they were out of everything I got the cheese with the gauva. It was like cheese rubber bands. Way overcooked again. I’m not sure if they were previously cooked and he threw them back in the fryer but it was gross and inedible. Then I get cashed out and it was 20 bucks! I was shocked! For a half a cup of jerky pork crunchy terrible rice and this bit of burnt cold cheese blocks ? Are you kidding me? I worked 2 hours in hell for that terrible meal. So disappointing! And not sure if it was the language barrier again but I did not feel welcome I did not feel greeted. I felt rushed and like they were annoyed I was even there. I threw away half my meal cause it was literally inedible. Such a waste. I...
Read moreI usually go to this place but after today not anymore. My wife and I ordered the Tropical smoothie which only contains as written pineapple, papaya, coconut and mango. It took over 15 minutes for them to make it. We then received the smoothies and my wife took a sip and immediately started having an allergic reaction. They put strawberries in there ( My wife is allergic to berries.) Which was not listed on ANY of the ingredients. I asked them why they didn't list it or tell me they were going to add any extra ingredients. They said because their new mix had strawberries instead of coconut. The female employee/owner just shrugged off what I had to say and left. I ended up having to take my wife to the ER because of her allergic reaction. Poor costumer service....
