I'm going to review this place for its sushi and not its hibachi since that's most likely what you will be going to this restaurant for. I came here for the All You Can Eat special that they do, which costs $40 dollars ($30 plus tax and tip). The sushi menu itself is relatively small compared to a lot of other restaurants. Furthermore, a lot of their rolls have cheese in them or are fried. This is something I hate when combined with raw fish. I had 6 rolls, a handroll, a salad, and a miso soup, so I easily broke even and ate more than $30 worth of food. The problem is their portioning. They put a very negligible amount of fish in their rolls, so you're eating more rice and spicy mayo than fish most of the time. The rolls came out in a very speedy manner, and I didn't have to wait long for my orders to keep coming out, but they will absolutely skimp you on the fish portion when doing the AYCE option.

All in all, the service is great, wait staff are super friendly, place looks nice, the sushi tastes great, but dont expect your rolls to be packed with fish. Will that stop me from coming back? Probably not. But I would have liked a bit more fish...

The food is pretty good. Probably the best sushi you can get in southern Alabama, which isn't saying a lot, but my biggest issue is the service. It feels like every time I'm here, nobody wants you in the restaurant. I've been feeling this way for a while, but today took the cake as I walked in an hour before close and they remind me twice that "we close soon" as I'm trying to order.

Anytime you order "all you can eat", you can expect almost no service, making it feel more like "all you can wait", regardless of how busy the restaurant is. I know it's a strategy for us to feel full before we can eat more, but it's so obvious, you will actually get hungrier as you wait!

I've spent well over $300 there in the past few months, but I'm going to start looking for other places who don't obviously treat me like junk.

Changed to 1 star as they pretended to be busy so they can take their time...

This place has been great until this afternoon at 4:30. Sadly, we were told that our party of 13 could not be served because they had a party of 20 due at 5pm. There were only 2-3 other tables sat at the time we walked in. I told them we could be sat separately that it wasn't a big deal to be sat together but I was told no. I am very disappointed in the attitude and lack of customer service we received. I'm always harping on keeping business local to my hometown of Daleville and as such, we took our money to El Mariachi where we were served without delay. I realize businesses are short-handed these days but would 3 individual parties of 4 been turned away?? I don't believe the owner would have agreed with his employee's decision...

Almost everything contains imitation crab meat. The rolls containing it are priced and advertised as if it’s real crab meat. All the fish at the sushi bar looked kind of old and dried out. The miso soup tasted old and it was super cloudy like the tofu was breaking down in it. The waitress was also incredibly rude. It seemed to bother her when I asked for one refill on my drink. She gave me a disgusted look When I asked for something else because the first roll Iordered smelled bad. She didn’t bother to ask why or take it off the ticket. I said thank you multiple times during our visit and all she did was turn around and walk away in silence. There’s nothing Tokyo about this place. Any one who actually enjoys sushi stay away from this place!

AYCE: For $35.50 pp pretax/tips, this place is a scam. Restriction/limitation on the AYCE because it has sashimi. Every other sushi roll is filled with cream cheese or cucumber and barely any fish. Nigiri sushi has more rice than fish. Price has increased by $8 over the last year from previous menu price with quality dropping. Taste is ok because it’s from the sauce. If you’re charging that much you should have similar output. Service was meh. Waitress felt bothered when we added more orders. Go to Dothan if you want an actual AYCE sushi experience. If you are craving quick mediocre sushi and doing ala carte then I guess you can come here.

Upon getting to the counter I advised the cashier that I would like to place a to go order and if he could help choose a fully cooked sushi roll. He began to point out different rolls that had no raw fish and I ordered. He pointed out a roll that had raw fish on top (the orange bits) that I didn’t realize until had already left to go back to work. Tokyo Sushi could most definitely work on their customer service and not standing at the counter as if you’re bothering them for asking a question or asking for a sauce. It’s crucial to serve people what they ask for as some people have severe allergens that could result in a much bigger issue.
