I have been following Aunt Irene kitchen on Instagram. The food looked amazing.I promised myself that wherever I came back to the Texas area, I was going to try this establishment out. I drove down from Arkansas to help my sister get her new apartment in order and decided to try them on my way back to Arkansas. The atmosphere was ok. The neighborhood was a bit sketch. The restaurant was clean inside. It was packed, but I was able to place my order in a timely manner at 405 pm. The cashier was nice and helpful, she told me my order would take about 45 minutes. No problem, I saw how busy they were. I ordered the burger and wing, my brother ordered wings and fries, and my sister ordered pork chops and 4 wings. We waited, and people were coming and going. Some people got their orders, and some people received refunds due to the long wait time. I am glad I didn't order fish because they ran out. Mind you, we still haven't received our food. At 445, still no food. People are still coming and were told there will be at least an hour or more wait time. Five minutes later, she announced we are sold out of everything. I enquired about my order, she insured me my order was coming up. I received my order at 520. The order was correct. The food looked great. My brother and I went to my jeep and my sister left. I had to try the food before I left. The burger was good, my fries were hot on top but I put one from the bottom it was cold. I said, "How does that happen. My brother and I agreed the wings would have been good but had too much salt on them. My sister said her food was good. Even though everything was not well this visit, I am willing to try them again. I believe in supporting B.O.B. I will be back next time I am in the area. Keep up the good work. They are doing something right to have a packed place and running...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never been so uncomfortable in an establishment in my life, I came in with my sister no weāre not from here the moment we walked in somehow all the workers reported to the front counter just to watch I ignored my first gut feeling to leave I proceeded to look at the menu, as Iām looking at the menu the heavy set older lady with the gold tooth didnāt seem to want to be bothered as she replied as if we was bothering her something simple as what āsauceā the entire time looking at the menu I felt rushed I guess I was supposed to come in knowing what I want I. I received the wrong order as she charged for things I didnāt ask for. My Oder was chicken with garlic parm I asked was it dry or wet she said dry only to get them and they are wet soggy and nasty taste nothing like garlic parm just straight lemon I received cat fish when I asked her what kind of fish she said cat I said oh no I want whitenings my sister who wasnāt ordering said to me cat fish is good I then said I donāt like it I asked for a lemonade never got it moral of the story I wasted 22 dollars on food that went in the trash after tasted one bite customer service is horrible oh letās not forget I get the food Iām sitting waiting for my ride yet again all the workers stranding behind the counter watching not even tryna be discreet will I recommend NO! The place is very dark the music was on 100 I couldnāt even hear my sister who was right next to me maybe thatās why my order was wrong she couldnāt hear me the waiting area lol clean but that kitchen you can tell is dirty the cook standing around in the front I didnāt feel the food was sanitary to eat just bad energy bad vibes from the moment we walked in not sure what they were waiting and looking for but your guest should never feel uncomfortable no matter who youāll think they are or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely love this place! The food takes a while to come out but it's very worth it. Flavor and seasoning on their food is in on point and the portions are huge. My go to is their black box (with no sausage) and it comes out hot and heavy in a styrofoam box. I adore the lemony butter sauce that it comes with that I order extra. Their shrimp and crab clusters are meaty and filling. I would recommend bringing your own scissors or crab crackers if you are going to eat there. My husband loves their hood burger, he says it's one of the best burgers he's had. We like these two items so much that we haven't ventured out to other items, but we will soon!
This establishment is traditionally to go only, however, the other half of the restaurant where there's seating is owned by the friendly owner of Krazee cocktails, who will greet you with a smile when you enter the restaurant and is the maker of the best daiquiri in town! Make sure to try a few drinks from him and you can sit down and enjoy while waiting for your food, and he doesn't mind you eating there.
His daiquiris deserve a review of its own, but it's very refreshing with real fruit bits inside and is perfectly strong. The price is fair with it being $10 each, in nicely packaged to go bottle. I've tried lemon henessey, strawberry lemonade, and pineapple daiquiris and they are all so good. Anytime I think that I've found my favorite flavor, I'm always pleasantly surprised with the next flavor I try that it's hard to pick.
People are welcoming and friendly here and it's a good vibe with good...
