Dan's Seafood & Chicken — Restaurant in Dallas

This is more than a review. Who is familiar with the person that don’t play about their catfish (me that's who)🥹. I was a little spectacle at first when I arrived because the place was clean outside and inside. majority of the times the little hole in the wall joints have the best catfish, but Dan’s surprised me. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile and hospitality (which is rare today). As I looked the menu over; the hostess recommended that I tried the whole catfish with optional sides. I was open to whatever cause she said that its a “COOK-TO-ORDER” establishment. My food was prepared and ready within 10-15 minutes as she started. Now, I didn't want to check my food and have that disappointing look on my face right in front of her…cause I’ve been known to take fish back with my cash back in hand. So, I went to the car to take a look-see. Y'all I begin the inspection 👍🏽. Smelled 👃 better than it looked 👀. Now it's time for the taste test. I pinched off a pretty good piece from the middle and started chewing. As I was chewing and looking upwards out the right side of my eye (with the left squinched in). I had to pause for a minute and began the process all over again. I was in amazement. The review does not justice. A 5 is not high enough for “this” review. I give /gave them a 9.3 due to no pepper or pickles…but hey. They may have extra condiments by request (I didn't think to ask). But anyway, I had to call and let her know that this was the best fish I’ve had in a long time (hands-down).

I went yesterday to take back fish I bought Friday and it were under cook in some places and fried hard ,they thin them down to make two slices out of one ,which make the inside not cook inside and the outside cooked to hard . and the rice I can't explain the flavor otherthan nasty. I had to put some salsa to give it a better taste . however the manager name Ann told ne to bring it back and I went yesterday 8-27-25 and she were very argumentative and raising her voice I ask her twice to lower her voice because I don't like attention it were people's inside.she were very rude,as I tried to explain what's going on, with the food she open it and with her bare hands tossing and slinging my gosh around inside the container, mind you I had eating off one of them .she don't know what germs is on it . and I had paid for my food and I ordered 1 beer and paid for it ,however I ask can I get 6 beers to go ,I was told yes, but I was trying to explain to her she charged me for 7, again she were very loud and argumentative. Fast forward she only given me 10.00 back for my 24.00 food and 15.99 for my beers fo the math . she counted how much food I eaten . I didn't finish the rice but she counted that as well. Beware of them handing money and going in the back cooking . that's cross contamination if they don't wash hands. I won't be going back there it use to be better, but they have changed...

Wow. Dan’s has THE BEST seafood and chicken I have ever tasted. I’ve been eating Dan’s since I was in high school and I’m so happy a new location in Dallas opened and this location is just as delicious. I always stop by Dan’s when I’m in town. I ordered crab legs, 2 catfish, 6 oysters, 6 shrimp, and corn nuggets, and their crispy fries were overflowing. Huge portions can serve 2 people and they have great prices. My favorite thing is their seasoning- it’s their secret recipe that is to die for. Crab leg sauce is also delicious! All their food is made hot, crispy, jumbo, and fresh to order. I will keep coming back for more. Customer service is great, food comes out quick, and the owners Ann and Minh are so friendly!! I highly recommend Dan’s for the best seafood, chicken, and fried...
