The Whistling Pig Neighborhood Pub — Restaurant in Dallas

It honestly depends on who the bartenders are!… I live next door and been there more that a few times and have had multiple experiences with the staff… my sister has been there multiple times both with friends and have multiple experiences… all of MY experiences have been great no problems but minor issues with one bartender, but let it go… as a former bartender I get we all go thru things but to some bartenders making money is more important then what’s going on in the bar, or judgement is brought up. I hope that my endangerment doesn’t cause a future problem because I was in actual danger and have the proof and the bartender did nothing about it and wanted to tell me he had all these other customers (I’ll let u be the judge of that) but when I went back in after that to get another drink I was cut off because I was crying because I tried to get help from someone who was chasing me and attacked me when I walked outside trying to get home… I was helpless and the one person I asked help for didn’t help me and I had to leave so it’s my fault when I went back and confronted the bartender… I’m sorry being an actual human being was difficult cause you had people at your bar! My video of what happened will be up no edit no cut I went in to ask for help from someone who was coming at me and I got nothing so I left. I love this bar but after tonight on Christmas of all days I will never feel safe or know that I can count on help from a tabc certified bartender! Again I have been bartending for 10+ yrs and never would have done or acted the way Mr. J did… they say he is an asshole but I didn’t realize how much of one he was until tonight and I’ve been going there for a little over a year and today was the fist tyme I had a horrible experience!🫣 I’m not saying I’m perfect but when someone is messing with u.. what are u...

Looking for somewhere to eat and this place came up in Google. Said it had pub fare with a twist so we decided to go on the adventure. It was around 8 pm and when we walked in it wasn't very busy and looked like an unassuming and old bar with some tables and bench seats and old furniture. A guy quickly came to ask if we would be eating, menus in hand. We said yes and took the menus which looked 10 times fancier than the place itself. Inside the menu there were lots of choices, from Cuban sandwhiches to salads to flatbread pizzas. The menu seemed to belong to a fancier restaurant and I hoped we weren't about to pay a lot of money for something that came out of a microwave. The beer and wine lists came on a small laminated sheet more like you would see at a sports bar. There were a lot of selections, but I didn't look past the first beer, which was an IPA because that was what I wanted to try. My compatriots ordered food, one a Cuban with fries, the other a steak and mushroom flat bread. My beer came first and it was in a glass and tasted great so I'm guessing it was from the tap. I got to try both of the food dishes and I again could not believe my tastebuds! Everything was delicious, down to the thick cut fries that were actually cut in an interesting shape that was reminiscent of a pig ear. The portions and the flavor made the price make sense and it made it all the more magical that it came out of a kitchen that was located ina place that just seemed like a local dive. I don't eat here often but when I do I get the buffalo wings and lemon pepper wings Delicious! Juicy and cooked just right. Although today was a different experience. The guy who waited on me was very kind and he explained what I could do next time I come. I just got out of church and I thought of the wings.....I was so hungry. The wings smelled so good. Well when I open my container I only saw 2 flats. And the rest were drums. Im not a big fan on drums. So I was disappointed. I did call and the gentleman who waited on me answered the phone and apologized. He explained they just grab wings by hand and cook them but if you want all flats just let us know. I was like okay I will. So my review is to let them know. The chicken was over cooked. I've never experienced this with them before. Now I can't eat the drums too hard. 😞 I always cook. I could had kelp my $20.00. Their wings are really good. I've had them before. I don't know if it's a different cook, different meat, whatever... but I do know it was over cooked. And I'm mad cause I'm still hungry. I guess I have to tell them don't over cook my wigs and add more flats. Buffalo wings wasn't that bad. The guy who waited on me was awesome!! And I truly believe they have great food. I was just disappointed today. I did give 4 stars. Cause the wings were awesome the other days I ordered them....
