The staff is hard working from morning till night! Everyone was friendly and courteous. They have a plethora of items to choose from depending on your appetite and diet. I was completely shocked by the prices being as affordable as what they are. I went there for breakfast and dinner during my stay. For breakfast I got three piece of French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, and two strips of bacon with orange juice for about $12. For dinner I called in at 7:45PM because I thought they closed at 9PM which they still accommodated my order of a BLT with fries for less than $10. Both meals were DELICIOUS and it’s like “if grandma cooked it”. There were some vegetarian items such as salads and black bean burgers. They even have a “not a big appetite” section for those who know they need to eat but can’t tackle a bigger meal. The ONLY thing is I wish they had more t-shirts to remember this iconic diner.

Remember, TIP your service decently. They provide us with an amazing well quality meal without shooting up the prices. I have not met a “tourist trap” in this amazing town. So because of that, make sure you show your appreciation where it matters the most. The tip jar for the cooks is by the register, don’t...

The Damascus Diner in Damascus, Virginia, gets a solid 5-star rating from me. It's a down-to-earth spot that ticks all the right boxes for a satisfying dining experience.

The home-cooking at Damascus Diner is spot-on. Simple, hearty dishes that hit the right notes of comfort and flavor. Whether you're grabbing breakfast or lunch, the menu offers familiar favorites cooked with care.

The standout feature here is the people. The staff is genuinely friendly, giving the place a welcoming vibe. They make you feel at home without going overboard.

Service is efficient and friendly. The staff ensures your meal goes smoothly, and they add a nice touch to the overall experience.

Located in Damascus, the diner's setting adds a bit of small-town charm to your meal. It's not flashy, just a nice backdrop for a relaxed dining outing.

In a nutshell, Damascus Diner is a reliable spot for good, no-fuss food, friendly service, and a touch of local charm. If you're in the area and looking for a straightforward and enjoyable dining experience, this place fits the bill. My 5-star rating reflects the consistent goodness they bring...

My waitress coughed quite frequently and did not always cover her mouth, even when in the kitchen area. She was also distracted by a phone call and a money count and treated me like I was interrupting her chores. The other waitress seemed friendly, attentive, and cough free. Bad luck on my part. I was now wary and noticed neither of the two hairy and bearded cooks wore hairnets or even a hat. Not reassuring when the service is suspect. I did not finish my food, paid $12 something for what the menu listed at $8.95, and the waitress excused her behavior stating she did not have Covid (like that is the only germ spread by coughing?) I was still hungry, unhappy, and declined to tip. This was my 2nd time here. The first time they were very busy, and did not even offer coffee while I sat patiently at a cleared table that had scrambled eggs on the floor under my chair. I wrote it off to being busy and left without being served that day. Two large strikes. I'm bypassing this establishment...

*HOMETOWN EATS: Damascus Diner* As we approach the 1-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene ripping through SW Virginia, I went back to Damascus to see how cleanup is going. One of the places that lost everything was the Damascus Diner. Frist opened in 2018, the diner is the go-to spot for a good homecooked meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Yes, it’s a long drive, but the food and people are worth it. Bonus points if you love the outdoors because Damascus has that and then some! - Tell em Logan sent ya! - The Damascus Diner is located at 109 S Shady Ave, Damascus, VA 24236. The diner is open Monday through Thursday 7am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 7am to 9pm, Sunday 8am to 2pm. - #helene #viral #trending #foodies #virginia

Just a wonderful experience for breakfast. Inside dinning is available but limited to about 8 tables. Only in town for a couple of days but made sure to eat there for both. Didn’t get to check out there supper offerings because of Halloween, and the town ramping up for some great trick-o-treating. Breakfast consisted of massive slabs of crispy bacon, the most tender biscuits I’ve had, some of the wife’s favorite grits, and a hash brown casserole that should be on everyone’s order. My over easy eggs were just that, and my sausage was fried perfectly and had a nice spice to it. The sourdough bread on morning two was fabulous under my fried egg sandwich with cheese. The wife’s breakfast burrito was nicely toasted and cheesy, the salsa was the perfect pairing. My only recommendation would be to work on your gravy receipt. If it’s a mix or canned, throw it out. If not ask around. All southern mamas have a good one to try. Still a 5 star diner. Can’t wait to return next year!
