Jeffie'z — Restaurant in Davenport

First time at Jeffie's. Entered the place and was immediately greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. The place is well lit and impeccably clean. Ordered a Southern Turkey sandwich ($6.50) and a cup of chili ($3). I could taste the smoke on the turkey, the crispness of the tasty cole slaw, and the tangy BBQ sauce complimenting each other in a delicious combination. The chili was meaty and flavorful. It is one of the better chilis I've had from a restaurant, although I thought it could use more salt (you can always add it, but you can't take it away). It came with melted cheese on top and a portion of Fritos on the side to either scoop or smash. I opted for the latter which made up for the lack of salt in my glovebox. Do one day my daughter and I were hungry and couldn't decide what we wanted and since we were on foot we decided to go to Jeffie'z and try out the food. When we walked in the door it was an instant feeling of home and comfortability. The food is all prepared fresh and by him and his wife and he cooks his meats on a smoker and grill.
