So much potential but QUANTITY does not equal QUALITY.
When I stepped into the restaurant, one of the girls greeted my with a smile but the other could have been planning my funeral for as irritated as she looked.
Additionally, the place had a dingy feel to it. The floors and tables were sticky and the deco was rather...ummm, Spartan. This could have been disregarded if the the food made up for it.
I had the gyro platter here just in time for dinner. While the portions were generous the presentation had much to be desired.
Likewise, I have to question the preparation.
The onions looked old and had no flavor. Both they and tomatoes were diced rather than sliced which means they kept escaping. And although the fries looked promising, they were overdone almost to the point of being burned.
On a positive note, the meat and tzatziki sauce were flavorful and the pita was fresh and light.
I general hold a three strikes and out rule so I'll give Olympic Gyros...
Read moreThis was one of my favorite restaurants, however they aren't the same. I just left there after ordering a gyro plate. I notified the young lady that took my order for the gyro plate, that it didn't have enough meat on it. Most gyro plates come with more meat and pita bread (at least 2) than the actual sandwich. Well not in this case. She informed me that this is how much they always give (It was as much as you put on a regular sandwich). She stated it would be 2 dollars more. I politely said ok, then I let her know the other competitors give twice as much meat. I left telling them to have a nice day. I'm not trying to tell people how to run there business, but don't let your customers leave feeling cheated. My husband drove me way across town to enjoy this. I use to go to this restaurant quite often years ago before moving from the area. I am truly disappointed and will never go to...
Read moreOrdered food from here for the first time today. Got 2 chicken gyros and 1 lamb gyro. On the phone the girl sounded a little annoyed that I called to place an order for pick up. The Chicken gyro was pretty bad, chicken was over seasoned, “tzatziki” sauce was pretty much just a very watery yogurt. The french fries were just as bad, i think they fried them a few hours ago and just let them soak on the oil. The only thing that tasted decent was the pita, since the only thing they had to do is toast it. And at the end my husband chocked on a hair. I see all these good reviews and I wonder what changed today, because my whole experience overall was very disappointing. And its even more sad when i see the greek flag hanging on the wall because whatever that was, was not a good representation of gyros. I grew up in Greece, so I know how a gyro should taste...
