Grammie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Dayton

Update. Just went today and arrived home to write this. It was busy, it usually is. I ordered a malted shake, among four other products. Had to wait. It's ok. It was busy and we ordered five items. My shake was the last one out. It wasn't what I ordered. I bring it to here attention and I get a look. Sorry there is a dollar price difference between the products. So two more orders get filled before my "malted" shake comes back out. She pushes the cup into my hand and turns quickly away, clearly frustrated. Not my problem, made my problem. I pull out and take a drink at the light. NOT what I ordered. I was going to turn around and have her make my item correctly, but why. It's easier to never go back. They won't miss my business, and service has really been different since the new owners took over.

We drove about 20 miles from Massanutten Resort to this location, as it seemed there was a location right outside the resort, but when we went there, it was closed and had changed names. The drive was lovely and the ice cream was delicious. They have flavors I've never seen before, one of which was Oatmeal Creme Pie. That's the flavor I got. It had huge chunks of chewy oatmeal cookie in creamy vanilla ice cream. It was decadent. My mom got the Almond Coconut Joy and my husband got the Midnight Mint. I didn't try theirs, but they both liked their flavors. Service was friendly and fairly fast, considering that we had three orders. I can see why this place gets such high ratings. I stopped by this small ice cream shop on my way home from the park on a nice day about a month ago with my wife and we ordered the coconut ice cream, and a milkshake. We sat down on the outdoor patio and enjoyed our sweet treats as the sun was setting. We absolutely loved the organic tasty desserts we savored that day. Next time I visited, I brought my children and they loved it as well. It has become family tradition for us to stop by and get Grammies ice cream when we are in the area. it is very enjoyable.
