My first rating of zero (it won't let me post unless I give at least one star). I have traveled around the world (1 million miles on Delta) and eaten in many airport restaurants. I now have traveled to Dayton 152 times in 3 1/2 years and have eaten at this restaurant occasionally at first and virtually every week on Wednesday for over a year. Deb and Kristin always take great care of me and treat me like a valued customer.
They weren't there today! It was Janelle - uuhhgggg! OMG! It wasn't busy when I sat at my usual table. She did not come out of the back room for 10 minutes, then she did not even look around the restaurant for new faces. She finally turned and looked my way but did not acknowledge me. I finally had to go to the bar and ask if I could get get something to eat and drink.
Good service would be sincerely apologizing and taking my order and make sure the customer is well served after that.
Not Janelle (I read many reviews on Yelp that identified her by name!). Her job was to justify poor service and put blame on the customer. To shorten the story here are bullet points of her comments. She is in severe need of customer service coaching.
I didn't see you over there - I told her she looked right at me. You should have come to the bar sooner. - I shouldn't have to come There's another restaurant "Max & Irma's I could go to. ( I would have fired her for that if I was the owner). I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, no bun no BBQ sauce and a side of sliced tomatoes. - I got a chicken breast with cheese and sliced tomatoes, (no lettuce, onion, or tomato for the sandwich).
She said she would bring it to me. Instead she went to the bar and served drinks. I went up there and she said she would get to me after the making drinks. I said "are you kidding me! Go get my food." I had to go to the kitchen and get it myself.
One question to whoever owns this restaurant. Have you read the reviews on Yelp? Have you read any of these reviews? Why is Janelle still...
Read moreStopped in and planned on getting a drink and watch a football game while I waited on my flight. There were only 5 people there. I was never greeted. The bartender was super-abrasive with another patron about the football game that was on. When she asked if she could get me anything I stated “not right now” because I was busy doing an expense report on my phone. She proceeded to tell me I had to leave because I was not buying anything. I had all intentions of buying something, just not right then. With how rude she was I opted to just leave, otherwise she would’ve felt the wrath of my sarcasm and gotten...
Read moreDayton Airport restaurants (MVP)are a complete disappointment. I’ve experienced consistently poor quality and service that falls far below acceptable standards. The staff is unprofessional and clearly untrained, offering barely any assistance to travelers in need. With limited resources and abbreviated operating hours, these establishments seem ill-prepared to handle even a moderate volume of customers. It’s unacceptable to pay airport prices for such subpar dining experiences. Improvements are urgently needed to meet even the most basic expectations of service...
