Stopped in for lunch while in the area. Had the chicken, Granny Smith apples, and smoked gouda sandwich....it was pretty awesome. My wife had the burger, it was great also. We split a slice of their sweet cherry pie, and I'll be honest. I dont really like cherry pie because they always use an overly sugary fruit filling. This was a legit, real cherry pie, and is about the only cherry pie that I'd ever want to eat again. Since they seemed to have what looked like a few different pies, my wife asked if they had a house key lime pie by chance. I'm a huge key lime pie freak, and I'm always looking for a good one. The owner said yes, they do, and in fact it was one of their specialities; even better than most you'd get from Florida. Now right there, challange accepted. My wife is from Florida, and I was stationed in Florida for a few years. We know key lime pie, and I've eaten just about everyone from Orlando, to Jacksonville, to Pensacola, and in between in my travels. Can I find a good key lime pie in Indiana? Maybe. But better than a real deal Florida one? Naw. I ordered one to go anyways, and while they didn't have one at the moment, the owner said she could "whip me one up in an hour or so." Damn, a fresh made, on the spot, key lime pie that is promised to be one of the best I'll have ever had!? Okay. We left and did some shopping, stopped back by about 2 hours later, and it was ready to go. When I got home that night, we gave it a try. It looked the part, and after I cut into it, I had high hopes. Again, this was real filling, not that cheap crappy jello pie filling. First bite, confirmed...BEST KEY LIME PIE EVER! Luckily for me, I live two hours away or I'd be fat on key lime pie. But, I do pass through every few months visiting family. I'll be placing my order for pickup ahead of...
Read moreWe ate there 4 times the week we spent at REVin Decatur. Breakfast once & 3 lunch. All food homemade from scratch. I had one of the best Reuben sandwiches of my life there, home made corned beef sliced thick, excellent kraut, cheese and sauce. French fries fresh, not frozen junk. I also had fish tacos, nicely sauced made with tilapia. My only addition would be sliced jalapenos and perhaps a wedge of lime, but they do not have those, so I used hot sauce. Nevertheless delicious, fresh soft tortillas. Hubby enjoyed his burgers, fresh patties, not frozen. My breakfast of scrambled eggs with bell peppers was tasty as were the cheesy potatoes. Their homemade pies are great, the lemon luscious was my fave, tangy, not over sweetened. Key lime was good too. They serve real brewed sweet tea. Coffe is good too. Their menu is limited but more than adequate. Hours are limited, but work out for breakfast and lunch. It's a family run small business, service isfzzntastic, cordial. We will definitely return our next time in Decatur. ...
Read moreA great little place to eat! Lots of locals dine there and there is a table of guys who gather and visit quietly every morning. Families dine there as well and a group of 10 could be handled if necessary, although probably not more than one group that size due to the size of the facility. Wait staff is friendly, polite, efficient, and helpful, and they don't "hover". They swing by quickly, ask if you need a refill on the drinks or anything else and are off to the next table. The facility is small but nicely decorated, there is plenty of comfortable seating and it is immaculately clean. Prices are reasonable. The food is tasty, attractively presented, and there is a nice variety. Homemade pie is a specialty, there are many kinds and it is delicious. When in this area, this will be a...
