Zesto Ice Cream — Restaurant in Decatur

We normally LOVE getting our ice cream at Zesto in Decatur. Our family went tonight and moved through the line very quickly, which we were grateful for. However the toppings on most of our ice cream tasted stale or freezer burnt... like they just had them locked up all winter and broke them back out. (Spanish peanuts & Oreos mainly) It was awful, we didn’t finish our desserts. My daughter wanted a candy “face” on her cookie dough ice cream. I told the girl working several times we wanted a face on cookie dough ice cream. She asked if I wanted the clown sundae. I said no I want a scoop of cookie dough with a candy face if possible. She said absolutely no problem. We got the ice cream with no face. Not the end of the world, but...

Since moving back, I’ve been here three times and Zesto has hit it out of the park every time! Their vanilla ice cream has a certain creaminess that other places just lack. It tastes homemade! During my latest (6-9-20 @ 8pm) visit I got a hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge. I don’t know who makes these but I want them to make mine ALWAYS! Why? Root beer floats are great. BBQ sandwiches are not worth the money at all. Was like having a slider and charged me almost $5 after tax for one. Very disappointed in the sandwich which is why the 3 stars. Customer service is awesome. And everything else was amazing. Hopefully they can change their sandwich size and then they would be a 5...
