I have childhood memories of this place. This was my grandparents’ “big night out” coming from a tiny village in Ohio to or from the big city of Fort Wayne. Decatur was always a good stop to break up the hour+ trip. If I didn’t let nostalgia weigh in, I might not have such high reviews. The tables are sticky, the salad bar is full of “old people food” and, to be honest, I pick off a lot of the breading on the fish. But the place still makes happy memories pop up, so I still need to break up the trip to or from Fort Wayne when I get a chance!

The service was lovely and the food was brought out quickly. The decor was cute, especially at the salad bar. The food was hot and crisp but probably a 3.5/5. I ordered the lite breaded shrimp and received only 3 shrimps, which was less than I expected. Otherwise, the food is tasty. The fish tasted fresh.

The Galley was a pleasant experience! Our Server was Supurb ! She had yrs experience in the family business! She was helpful in us making food decisions! She was attentive , and brought us pitcher of ice water along with our glasses of water ,saving herself time to attend to other guests. Her recommendation of the house dressing was spot on! .She was engaging when she had time and answered all our questions with years of her knowledge! The salad bar was well rounded with traditional salad toppings, but no ham chicken or pepperoni, no meat ..,Not a big deal .I had a imitation crabtmeat salad that was ok.I didn't make it to the slaw or macaroni salad. My main course was stuffed breaded shrimp with cheese inside .The batter was right and Cooked to a nice golden brown ! Along with the 2 stuffed shrimp i came with a grilled chicken breast. Our server suggested a cajun style rub on it that turned out to be quite tasty with a barbecue dipping sauce.. Garlic mash potatoes was a good side choice. Overall the food was good .Serving sizes were appropriate! Priced modestly. The staff was great! A very good experience! I will go back! A nice...

I love the fish here.In fact it is about the only fish I do like. But rarely eat here as the prices are rather high for someone on a fixed income (part of the reason only 3 stars)We saw a special in the paper for 2 whitefish dinners for 11.99 so we went to eat there the ad said served with green beans, coleslaw, potato and a roll...waitress said no it only came with coleslaw(which I am not a fan) and fries (and frankly only 2 smaller pieces of fish too)so I had torn out and brought the ad and I showed her the ad and she begrudgingly gave us the roll and beans too. (I might also add that they were not the same beans they normally serve with diced onion and tiny pieces of ham) and she said how mad the manager was going to be about the ad....kind of an unpleasant dining experience but for the good fish, we endured it.Frankly if I could find the same exact type of breaded whitefish elsewhere I would probably if...

Listen. I cannot say enough good things about the Galley's classic fish dinner. It's SO good that I actually even dream about it on occasion. Go when you're hungry and order the all-you-can-eat fish....you'll have to roll out the door when you're done, but you'll be happy as a clam, so it all events out. The sides are good, the salad bar is great, and the fish & chicken buffet during the week is definitely worth the trip. AND, most importantly, their tartar sauce is to die for! Just the right amount of sweet & tangy in a super creamy sauce.

ONLY downside here is that they serve your drink in a tiny glass and you only get one free refill. Never understood why they dole out child-size cups to adults, but they do. Honestly, just order water. It's not worth the extra expense for what you get. And you can use the money you save...
