Debbie's Diner — Restaurant in Decatur

Pie for breakfast? Its Monday... I needed a reason to continue with the week... lol

I have been meaning to get to Debbie's, and today turned out to be the day. I enjoyed the breakfast special with two eggs, cottage fries, and bacon..with a side of toast (ham and sausage were also available). I gotta credit waitress Mary for suggesting the bacon and cottage fries! She was also a lot of fun. The regulars like Martin (pictured).really seemed to enjoy her wit! Same for Lauren who helped keep my cup of Farmers Bros Coffee full and also recommended the cherry pie !

Finally, I promised the girls that I would say that they were both as sweet as that cherry pie they were serving... . I'll confirm when I return again soon. Lol.

Can't rate0. customer often. Sometimes just drink coffee, sometimes eat, Was told me and my dad couldn't sit at the table we were at anymore if we just got coffee we would have to sit in a different location in the restaurant. Owner was one who told me this also stating we should understand she has to make money. We pay for the coffee and tip decent. The restaurant is never fully packed. Owner didn't like I asked if she could ring us up when her staff was talking forever to get to cash register. Very dissatisfied with owner and her un written policies. It's sad because used to enjoy going there until owner made me feel un wanted. Lost this customer. No my business will not make or break her but if she treats others the way she treated me I hope...

I dont know if I should even rate Debbie's 3 stars. Personally, shes a very drama filled individual who likes to talk negatively about nearby local companies that have attempted to use her for catering. She has catered for where I work a few times and the food was always mediocre. I dont know if that is purposely though because when I have gone to her diner, (twice in the last year), the food was hot and very good. So I dont know if she has a vendetta against other local businesses or what. Price wise, I think shes a little on the high side. It's too bad Clares closed. I would have picked them over her establishment any day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. She really needs to change her...
