EL ANTOJITO ice cream and snack parlor — Restaurant in Decatur

This is such a great little ice cream parlor with an incredibly friendly staff. Perfect for a date, family or church outing, or just whenever your sweet tooth demands an ice cream. They have all kinds of traditional and exotic flavors of ice cream, popsicles, pastries, agua fresas, etc... I haven't tried near as much of their menu as I'd like because I'm pretty much addicted to their coconut ice cream in a waffle cone. My wife usually orders the Dubai, and my kids love the chicle. I can't wait to try more. And they told me that they're going to start offering more hot treats now that the weather is cooling off.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge how great the staff is. You're not likely to find a friendlier bunch. Most of them are native Spanish speakers, but don't be intimidated by that if you don't speak Spanish because everyone speaks English well enough to serve you. Even if there's a language barrier, I promise you that they're friendly and patient enough to help you get whatever you want.

This is a tough time for the Latino community here in Decatur. The annual Dia de los Muertos event had to be canceled this month because of safety concerns. So it's wonderful to see people from all different races, all walks of life, police officers, fire fighters, plant workers, laborers, professionals, etc... coming together at a cool little place and enjoying some great ice cream and desserts. We're very fortunate to have this business...

Tried a new place today & let me tell you. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! EVERYTHING IS SO FRESH. The team was VERY nice & helpful. Most definitely will be stopping by here more. #Fav drink: cucumber drink(top notch)
