El Camino Real — Restaurant in Decatur

I dont like giving bad reviews but this one is indeed a necessity. December 30, 2021 was suppose to be a very special day for my daughter as she had just gotten married. We made a reservation at noon for a party of 15 at 6pm. When we arrived at 545, we were greeted by the hostess who told us there would be a wait. I could understand a small wait for getting set up and whatnot but this was a 30 min wait, only to be seated in three separate booths! After we were seated within our liking about 30 min later, we ordered drinks. This was the only good part of the evening. All of our drinks came out quickly and correctly. We ordered our food only to wait 1.5 hours later to get it and then when we finally did get it, it was cold. We expressed our disappointment to the waiter only for him to say "I know and I'm sorry." What a horrendous evening and much wasted money. 3 hours and a couple hundred dollars for an extremely poor service. Dined in with my daughter and granddaughter (4yrs old) was told they had nothing to entertain her (crayons and paper) waited for food 1 1/2 hrs, with never seeing waitress after ordering food. Finally flagged someone (NOT our waitress)down about our food and was told it was on its way. Also seen multiples around us that got their food before us. Told them I wanted our food to go, as it was late . Food still took 20 mins after that statement. Gave ABSOLUTELY no remorse for the service received. And once home looking over food, things were missing. IVE NEVER HAD SUCH TERRIBLE SERVICE. I've waited tables for many years, customers understand business as long as you communicate. Treating them as they are nothing but an annoyance is unacceptable. Management refused any sort of compensation. Will never be returning even though I've been a LONG...

I love eating here. The food is usually great, the service is fast, and I have never had any complaints.

The reason I left 3 stars is because I made reservation for a party of 20 6 hours before we planned to be there. We got there and were split up in several booths because another party had taken our spot. It took over an hour to place our order, and the food came out all at once cold. When we asked for some sort of compensation we were brushed off. This is literally the only time I have never left a tip when I usually hand the server $20 or more depending on the price of the meal.

I will return, but I can't recommend bringing more than 1...
